have u checked out 'manhattan portage' and 'crumpler' bags?

you can browse some different kinds of bags on rushfaster.com.au - wouldnt suggest buying anything from there, but might give u some more ideas or brands to research [IMG]

Yes, but it shows every mote of dust that falls on it. I got a black Timberland backpack, and now it's kind of gray... I have to vacuum it every week [IMG]

I would get the recon as it's got a hip belt to help distribute the weight, it looks cooler, and I think dirt will show as much anyways.

i'd suggest this too, but they've stopped offering their "lifetime warranty" and changed it to a cheap-o 30 day warranty [IMG]

Spokenrope: if you're carrying over 40kgs in weight for a few weeks in a awkward terrain you'll BEG for a hip belt.

If you just want it for stuff like carrying a few things about then you don't need it, I guess. Just sometimes if what your carrying is pretty heavy, its good for your back to distribute the weight.
