Gaming When the GBA first came out...

I had a Black Gameboy Advance that I bought from a game store that carried imports. A black one wasn't available in the US. Later I installed an Afterburner in it. My GBA SP was half silver and half black and I believe it was an AGS-101.

My first GBA was the arctic white one and my first game was Tony Hawk's Pro skater 2 and I got the blue sp on launch and I was only in 2nd grade lol

I originally had the transparent purple GBA with Ruby and Sapphire. Got that on my 10th birthday and then less than a year later, my grandmother accidentally threw my GBA away (don't ask). A couple of months later, we had a trip to New York and I was able to pickup a gold Pokemon Center GBA ! Kinda glad she threw it away or else I never would've gotten my gold PCNY GBA

Solid purple with Fire Prowrestling Ace import. Actually had the game before I got the system, had to drive all over town trying to find a GBA that wasn't pink. Gamestop/EB had them but were pulling a bunch of "gotta buy a few games and bunch of crappy accessories to buy a GBA" crap. Finally found one lone purple one in a Target. Would've gotten transparent purple if they'd had one (to match my GBC).

Later got a TRU exclusive gold GBASP w/Super Mario Advance 4:SMB3 during a black friday sale. Only time I've ever bothered going out into that mess of a day.

Mine was the clear purple one that the OP had, and I really can't remember any games I played except for the Pokémon ones, obviously. :3

Got a silver GBASP around the time it came out, along with some Yu-Gi-Oh game and Pokemon Ruby. I think I managed to crack something in the screen a year or two ago though, as there's some sort of green leakage spread across on the inside.

I got a used purple GBA for half the price of new which was very good seeing it was only three months after launch AND it came with F-Zero, same day I grabbed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (probably my most played game until Bomberman Tournament came out) and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.
