Gaming When burning a game, do I need the .DVD file???

just downloaded what appears to be Gears of War 2 NTSC for 360.
I see in the rar 2 files, DVD and iso.
Do I need the DVD in some way?

.dvd contains the layerbreak. Without it you'd have to manually set it.

Ok sry for double, I fixed what was wrong in the test before, now i wanna burn the game.
I opened imgburn, selected the .dvd file, then before it starts, I get the pop window says :
"Can't set the layer break burning position when burning on DVD-R DL media, do you want to continue".
I thought .dvd file is meant to set the layer break, so, what should I do? I didnt let it continue, I wanna make sure I don't do mistakes.
I'm using High Quality 'That's' japanese disc DVD-R DL, by Tayo Yuden, probably highest quality in the world, so I don't want to make mistakes.
So then, should I let it contintue? or theres something wrong?

It's nothing to do with it not reading -r. It's for the exact reason imgburn said. You can't set a custom layerbreak on them.

isnt there a way to set it somehow? buying here a DL (Verbatim, highest quality here) (I bought all my DLs which are -R on my trip in japan) is a 30 mins drive and costs for 2 discs 14USD... ><

No, no way to set it. If imgburn could do it, it would have when you loaded the .dvd.
