What's a hacked Pokemon exactly? Altering the stats? Doesn't that defeat the whole point of playing Pokemon I.e. choosing the correct team given their strengths and limitations?

Basically a Pokemon with moves and abilities it normally can't have, like a Ditto with moves that are not transform or a Pokemon that is not Shedinja with Wonder Guard.

Ever heard of Toxic, Will-o-wisp, Sandstorm, or Hail?
Any player can swap in their Tyranitar (it's on over 50% of competitive teams last time I checked) and INSTANTLY kill Shedinja.
Well, almost instantly, it'll take until the end of the turn.

Also, an obvious fail for not mentioning Sableye or Spiritomb.

EDIT: AND HOW WOULD ANY ONE OF THOSE STAY ALIVE FOR 2 TURNS IN A TRIPLE BATTLE
