Gaming What to I need to do to make sure my homebrew is updated?

I want to play DK returns using a loader... A few months back I did the basic bare bones homebrew install in order to play NES and SNES games, but i'm sure things have changed since then...

Very new to this, what do I need to do to make sure my Wii homebrew is updated and can play DK Returns backed up on a blank DVD - R?

what do you mean by rehack my wii? Can you elaborate? I want to run DKCR.

I've got an original Wii so I heard with certain apps I can just back it up on to a DVD -R, and when i tried to play it using neogamma it gave me the error:
Error 1208 disc ID. No CIOS + DVD R-

To get it running without updating everything, chances are you only need to install cIOS v20 (latest revision) into slot 249.

You'd also want to have 236 patched.

Easiest method to do this would be to download Multi Mod Manager.

This will allow you to patch 236, and check the status of the other IOS versions, telling you what is out of date and what cIOS you have installed (which can help us, help you).

If you want a simple updater, download Pimp My Wii v2.11 is the latest at the moment, then run the update. This will install the missing cIOS files and IOS files needed to update. Then you could also download manually the latest version of NeoGamma (if that's your preferred loader).
