Hi guys, just put a Wii clip with d2cpro chip, I am using memorex dvd+r DL and BenQ DVD+R to back up my games, all of them coming up with errors where the Wii cannot read them. The original work fine. Could some one please tell where is a good place to by them and what brand name I should stick to. There is a local Futureshop and Bestbuy close to me.

Thanks

Hi, what do you mean by DVD9? Unfortunately I cannot back up my original games yet(I have a LG drive on order). I downloaded SMMB off the net. Used Nero to back up the iso on the memorex DVD+RDL. This is the only back up I have. The other ones are taking for ever to download. Is there another small iso that I can download just to see if the wii clip works.

thanks

I used RICOHJPND00 DVD+R DL For Brawl.

For everything else, TYG03 Verbatim DVD-R

i always used maxell with my launch drive (before it died) because i found them to be a good balance between quality and price.

haven't been able to test anything for the past month because i've been waiting for a modchip to come in..but i expect maxell to continue to work flawlessly

Same D2Pro chip installed (professionally installed 19 wires). I use Memorex DVD+R or Verbatim DVD+R with no issue at all (burnt from my MacBook [OS X 10.5.3] using the built-in image burn software at max speed)... but haven't had any luck with DL's (Verbatim or FujiFilm tested so far), having to use DVD5 rip of SSBB.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
