Hardware What is better S-Video or Component Cables

i'm just wondering what which gives off better picture S-Video hook up or the blue green and red Component Cables

S-Video uses lumen (luminance) and chroma (color) for the video signal wheras Component uses seperate red/green/blue. Generally speaking you'll get better video using Component cables.

S-Video does not support 480p. It can only do 480i, so if you have a choice, definately go with Component.

Note however that picture quality also depends a great deal on the quality of the cable. At 480i, a top quality S-Video cable can look better than a crappy quality component cable.
