its like saying rename .mp3 into a .png and itll still play as a mp3
just use imgburn to burn so you dont corrupt the file
Renaming a file can not corrupt it, and assuming you are using a proper player, renaming a song from something like songname.mp3 to songname.png it would still play as an mp3 because it still IS an mp3.
Properly written software works with the
content of a file, not it's name.
File names are only for the
user to know what the content is, not the machine. If the content of a file was originally mp3 audio, it doesn't matter to a machine if the files name is songname.mp3, songname.png, songname.shit, songname.music, music.songname or
anything the user chooses to name the file, but if the user names them with mp3 as the extension, the user will be able to keep track of what is contained in the file.
The case with .gcm is it
is an ISO image, but the file has been named .gcm for the
user (not the machine) to be able to more easily recognize that the content of the file is
Game
Cube
Media.
(I'm guessing you're some kind of Windows user who thinks there is some correlation between a files name and extension and its content/what it can be used for
)
