Hacking What exactly does a NAND backup contain?

Everything about your Wii: the System Menu, the installed channels, game saves, and system files. It is always a good idea to make a backup before doing anything dangerous, like modifying system files.

So if I make a nand dump, how would I go about backing up just the saves themselves every so often and not have to worry about backing up the whole thing? Or would it simply be easier to back up the whole thing?

Your whole Wii (software-wise), really everything (well, besides Bootv2, I guess

). And BootMii adds the Keys from your Console too.

I personally think it would be easier to back up your NAND if you have a lot of saves.
