I use it mostly to run ports and homebrew, the Gamecube Animal Crossing port is making me use my Vita every day. Before I used mostly for PSP games but I haven't played those much this year

Do note the port is most likely possible because Animal Crossing is already a port of a Nintendo 64 game so it is not hardware intensive.

I would love a complete Decompilation of Dreamcast Sonic Adventure since even in the best conditions the game barely hits 20 fps while emulated on the Vita. Maybe that can be increased by overclocking the Vita but I don't wanna risk when I still have my OG Switch without hacking andthat should run Dreamcast games quite well even without overclocking

Anything under the sun. Outside of PSP games obviously, I don't really run emulation on it (GBA with integer scale is perfect, minus lack of rumble in the few games that use it), but homebrew ports are probably what I've been playing the most. It's really handy because of the extremely well optimised sleep mode and overall power consumption.

As for overclocking, the Vita is severely underclocked for lower power consumption. To my knowledge, using max clocks all over the board is perfectly safe, but only increase what you actually need. As long as it isn't very hot to the touch (I never observed this no matter how much I OCed), everything should be fine.

You can make it so Sonic Adventure runs at close to 30 fps with overclocking but again I don't wanna risk it.

The Mario Kart 64 port seems to be getting regular updates but that game main draw was multiplayer and I am the only guy around with a Vita, hacked PSPs were way common like a decade ago cause smartphones weren't a thing yet so they were a nice way to watch videos on the move.

I've been playing a lot of career mode on FIFA 15 (EA literally used the worst version of the career mode for the Vita port, I'm blaming the FIFA 11 engine for it). I'm also trying to achieve the platinum trophy on AoT: Wings of Freedom and Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd.

Also, there should be literally 0% risk of damaging your console from overclocking. Sony underclocked it to hell at launch anyway; the CPU that the Vita uses normally has an 800 MHz to 2 GHz max speed range. This was obviously done for better battery life, but I wonder if we will ever be able to reach those speeds...

While OC is and always has been an "at your risk" option, I think there are enough resources, comments and the like that reaffirm that sane OC settings basically never caused issues. It isn't like PCs where you'd be raising clocks until a sweet spot where it stops working correctly, on the Vita the OC tools only give sane values for what is already a severely underclocked system, as I already mentioned.

Considering how much homebrew either automatically applies higher clocks, or greatly benefits from that, you'd be missing out on free gains for no good reason. Just try it sometime.

As for MK64 port, you never know, but since the game isn't that large to begin with, why not have it ready if the stars align? :P

Career mode for freaking Fifa? No wonder the series has been downhill for decades.

Edit: Funny enough the Vita sometimes gets warm while playing Animal Crossing too long. 😃

Actual Minecraft for Vita, retail copy!

Cool, nowadays that thing is expensive cause collectors. Although not as much as my Star Wars PSP since it is like the holy grail for hacking a PSP and limited edition Star Wars merch.

You see because it is an early model PSP 200/2000 basically everything runs on it, is'easier to hack and only has the problem of some games speeding up due to the extra ram but all PSP 200 and 300 models have that problem. That's why if you play rhyming games you either have to use the Old PSP 100 model or change settings to slow the games down. PaRappa the Rapper is freaking impossible without slowing it down on the PSP 200 onwards unless you have memorised the exact button presses. And yes that applies both to the original and the PSP remake.

My main problems with my hacked Vita is battery life and that the USB cable is already full of tape so I need to replace it. Besides that it ismy prefered method of playing in bed or a couch. For travelling I use my old 2DS.

Luckily, the Vita is very modular and easy to work with if you ever need to open it up, so the battery issue should be a breeze.

You can use any USB Micro-B cable with a "dumb" USB charger (avoid old non-standard "fast/quick charge" chargers! PD is fine), if you're talking about the stock charger just throw it away. It's not worth taping a broken cable...

USB Micro-B cable

The OLED Vita has a werd port for the USB Cable.

The battery is fine, but if the USB Cable breaks it is not easy to replace.

You probably have the Slim model, that's the one that uses a USB Micro-B cable.
