Lately when my new 3ds XL have low battery the notification light (top right) blinks in an irregular sequence like 3 seconds, then the light stops completely for 3 seconds, then blinks again for 3 seconds and so on (is a red light)
I know this is unusual because I have my 3ds since 2015 and never experience this sequence (it was always a continuous red blinking when it was low on battery)
A video of my 3ds (sorry for the bad quality):

As I said I already know what the notification colors mean and I know the notification light blinks red when the console it's low on battery, I'm worried because of the unusual sequence
I think it might be the battery, but i'm not sure.

Anyway, do you think I should replace My battery? Or maybe it could be another problem?

  • About the battery life last for around 2 hours, maybe a little more
  • I never replace the battery before
  • I got my 3ds on a retail store (not second hand or from a place like aliexpress)
  • And last, I have cfw since 2019 but never experience this before

some photos of my battery:

Thank you

I think Nintendo has a guide as to what the colored lights mean.
I know the red notification light means low battery, but I never experience this pattern before, instead of a continuous blinking pattern is an irregular one.
What happens is that the notification light instead of blinking continuously (when it have low battery) it stops for some seconds and then blinks again for some seconds and repeats.

the flashing red light always means battery is low. However, this could be a battery issue.

A similar thing happened to my 3DS. I would charge it, it would have full battery, then it would turn blinking red. It turns out that my battery was starting to swell. Make sure to keep checking it, because that might be the case.

Maybe it is the battery, I checked and it is a little swell.
the battery is still working "fine" but I know that a swollen battery can be dangerous, so I think it's time to get a new one

I posted a video of my 3ds (the red notification light) on the original post just in case.

In that case, yes you should get a new battery. Swollen batteries really suck, huh ?

only ps5 updated to latest firmware can go on psn, jailbroken ones just don't use psn or they risk getting flagged or banned, altho spouting profanity in online play alredy does that
