Hacking WARNING: Buying legit Hori sreen protectors

I got mine from Winsunx. Seems fine so far (2 weeks). Seems legit as well since I have the real looking type cloth.

Considering I spent $8 USD on them they better be real!

FYI to all: Also avoid SuperUFO's 'Hori-brand' screen protector. I think it's counterfeit. When emailed about the legitness of it, they quickly dodged the question.

The one i got off ebay doesnt have a blurry front or the hori printed cloth but it does have english tabs, so im not sure what to think. I havent put them on my DS though as i purchased them before i got a DSL and now i have it im not sure if i want to put it on.

to anyone thinking of doing a Paypal refund: Note that you must receive the item first before you try to get a refund, and even then, I'm not sure if Paypal will consider the pics I have as good enough evidence for a fake product.

These are more than likely fake, but to play devils advocate, companies often do revisions of their product and update various packing and manual parts.

I mean, who fakes screen protectors. The profit margins on them can't be worth it.

I have some Hori screen protectors coming from Play-Asia (hopefully they will be here this week). When they arrive I will post pictures of the packaging and product for comparison.

well, they most likely won't damage your DS Lite screens, so you've got nothing to lose...there are other screen protectors which aren't as good as the original Hori ones, so there's no reason to worry

I would like to make note that apart from the "official hori screen protectors" that are sold in Japan (which can be bought at lik-sang and play-asia), that hori of USA also released them in english http://www.hori.jp/us/products/ndsl/protec...lter/index.html

I bought them last week here in the Netherlands at "Media Markt". And they are exactly the same of course as the japanese version

So there are actually TWO real Hori Screen Protector packages out there. Dunno wether they sell it on ebay though .... but I just wanted to point this out

To anyone thinking about getting a refund, did you know (i read the small print), in the event of trying to get a refund and succeeding, there is a £15 or so processing fee. Effectively wiping out any compensation you may receive.

As you can obviously work out, they do it to discourage people claimimng on smaller goods, and it is only useful on goods that are worth a few hundred quid, such as digital cameras and goods up to £120 I think.

I bought one from EBay also. I saw the item is in Cali. I got the shipment today and applied it today. Once i put it on, its hard to take it out. I got it from this person.

I guess if they are not covered by paypal, the fee applies, if they are with paypal, then you dont pay a processing fee, if you file the complaint with paypal.
However, is most fraud done over methods other than paypal?

The most important is the screen protectors themselves. When I compared the two I got, the eBay one had a slight brown tint to it, while the Play-Asia one was very clear. The eBay one also had a rougher cut, and does not line up well with the DS Lite screen diemensions. I would say your protectors are real, as it has the yellow sticker on the centre.

yea its very clear. it pretty much perfectly. how does the fake one stick like? the one i have sticks just like the real Hori ones i bought for my phat DS.

jlo mein when you say it was roughly cut what do you mean? the one i got from ebay that i believe is fake, has space around it and you need to line it up perfectly, even then i can still see it doesnt cover the whole screen especially when ds is on. Does the real hori one leave a tiny bit of space?

As far as how it sticks on, mine was almost impossible to pick up dust...but I say it was pretty easy in exception i have 2 little bubble on the end of the protector which refuse to leave. Also, my biggest complaint is that my touch screen now has this fluid look to it (hard to explan)
