Homebrew Wanting to emulate a Gameboy game and trick the game into thinking a GC/GBA adapter is a GBA/GBA?

Hi I was wondering if this was possible. For more details, this is exactly what I'm trying to do.

I have a GC/GBA adapter, a real gameboy advance sp, and a homebrew Wii. I tried to use vba gx to emulate a event pokemon distribution rom and try to trade to the real pokemon game via the cable. Alas with no success. I was wondering if there is any possible way for me to do this using other methods or with this method just a different way?

Yeah, there's no way to do that, as nobody has tried to program such functionality into the emulator.
Your best bet for something like this would be to use a DS lite and a DS flashcart to dump a copy of your legitimate pokemon save file, and then use a PC with an emulator that has link support to trade in your pokemon with the distribution rom, and then save your game on the emulator, and then use the DS flashcart to restore said save to the legit pokemon cartridge.

You could also just use a GBA Flashcart and a real GBA link cable, that should also work. But there's no way to do this via a Wii emulator. At least not as of now.
