Posted today on wololo website, apparently a hacker named yifanlu found an Vita exploit and can run native code. They're looking for developers to work on a new Usermode Vita Loader project. Sure there will still be naysayers, but in my opinion this looks much more promising than any potential 3DS hack.

I didn't know why you brought the 3ds up, but if this is real, then what's taking the 3ds side so long? Just for homebrew sake.

I thought they were the type that never learn from their mistakes. XD

Hahhaah joking aside, if it's true, this could be very promising.
It also means that the 3DS is better secured than the Vita. And no amount of fanboy-ish comment will change that.

    Sweet!

    Here come the ported emulators.
Anyway, no video of a Hello World being executed in Vitamode yet?
Or is it still to early to have a Hello world running.

Neat. Can't wait to see what kind of emulation the Vita is capable of.

I think the quotes post is satire, sort of an "inb4" THING.

They're making a huge mistake by posting this unfinished source code on github. Sony isn't blind and they're going to look through it. They know their firmware, they know what exploit it uses by looking at the code and they will most likely be able to patch it.

Releasing unfinished source code for a loader is beyond me - this it a breakthrough and should be kept in secrecy until they're ready to unleash it, at least that's my opinion. Posting news about developments is one thing, posting code is another...

But then again, who am I to criticize? They're still doing a wonderful job.

    ERROR!
It's so difficult, I really wanted this to happen but at the same time I don't want it to happen, yet at least.
But then again, woot for potential homebrew!

Vita is already doomed. A hack actually gives it a chance at life. So...VITA SAVED?

That was a preemptive statement to keep that BS out of this thread. (albeit a weak one) Not an excuse for you to start your hate march against Sony again.

It wasn't doomed. The holiday season releases might of saved it of course it might not have. A hack with homebrew will just generate some sales of the system with low software adoption but if it leads to piracy the third party and maybe even first party support will quickly disappear killing any possible profit Sony might get from it.
