This is news? I'm sure this has been done before.

But suddenly, when it's not with a Wii remote, it becomes a brand new technology!!11!one [/sarcasm]

    Seriously.

    That looks really cool.
I hope some Nintendo Wii developers see that video.

I've seen other stuff that this guy made with the Wiimote. They're very impressive. Like, he made a low-cost touchpad with the Wiimote and that was really neat. It means there are lots of possibilities with that thing. Man, that's really awesome.

I watched that video, i thought it was really innovative and nintendo should take advantage of them.

I saw this video yesterday and it's absolutely fucking amazing yet so incredibly simple..

I really hope Ninty or some Wii Dev take advantage of this but I find it highly unlikely due to the way the setup needs to be.

He's got quite a few nice ideas with the Wii setup.
I'm thinking a game for The Matrix and using bullet time. Now that would be awesome.

This is a pretty cool idea. Hopefully Nintendo will do something with this, but I doubt it.

Buy an IR camera and a PC. Chances are, you already have one of those items.

You can use a regular webcam too, just buy an IR filter to put over the lens. Cheaper than buying an IR camera, works just as well (for this particular purpose).

EDIT: Better yet, make your own IR filter [IMG]

That looks really realistic... It would be amazing if somebody could develop a proper game like this... That would mean you could stick your head round corners to look at stuff, and not have to adjust the camera at all.
