To those who play video game music on instruments:
Where do you get your sheet music?
I always wanted to play Giygas and Pokey on the violin but I can't find any sheet music

If you have it, where did you get it? You may share other sheet music sites too if you want

the one I prefer : http://ichigos.com

And I also went to http://animescores.com but it's a little changed, I think they created a new website (look at the last forum for sheet musics).

Though, almost all are for Piano, or main theme re-arranged for other instrument, but it's hard to find real partition for something other than piano ;_;
ps : I'm playing violin.

Interesting topic. I haven't played my guitar a lot this year, but I think I might get into it again with some of my favourite VGMs. Then again, I can play almost anything by ear (awesome auditive memory) so I don't really need them

Do you think we could make a band over the net ?
I think there's nice guitare+Violin music.
with good timing we could mix every single instruments part

Well, I'm not very good at timing >.>
and didn't touch my violin for 1 year, but I really like video game music.

Wow. I've never looked for this before, but i'm hella interested. Now, to get time to snag my guitar to play some stuff (i haven't seriously played in 2 years, and before that... i was continuously playing since '90. *cries*)

Time to make music.

(thanks for these links!)

What I did back in the day was just get MIDIs of music I wanted, and then got an MIDI to sheet music converter, since MIDI is basically digital sheet music.

http://www.notation.com/DownloadNotationPlayer.htm
This is a free converter/viewer, you can view the sheet music, play it, and print it... though you can't make any changes in the free version.

Yes, midi is the score, but it's not always well formated for the instrument you want to use.
Converting midi does not always use the good note positionning over the timeline, making strange result like a note crossing the Bar, or not using the same note resolution, 2 black instead of 1 white etc.
It all depends the midi software and its configuration reading midi created with another software.

for example for violin, the way the notes are set defines how to use the archer.

If you have a good violin partition for Mimi wo sumaseba "Take me home" (Country road), I would be happy
tongue.gif

The one from Ichigo's is for piano, I have one for violin but not easy (or I need to work it more ^^; )

That's not a bad idea, actually. I've already worked with NeSchn in the past, by sending him a recording of me singing something stupid (I forgot what it was though). It works like a charm, but since you're bad at timing and I'm bad at timing, maybe we could have a 'manager' to do it for us

Anyways, nice idea mate!
