Then you need to delete the first 0xfff bytes:

Press ctrl+e(with HxD)

Make the ending byte fff

Click ok, press delete, confirm(if necessary), and save

Let me know if that works.

0xFFF is not allowed. FFF is what I've been using and it's not working.

If you had deleted bytes already, your file wouldn't start with IVFC

I've found the error. When I'm done editing the bytes and save, it doesn't actually save.

It doesn't save. When I change the offset and then save as .romfs and reopen that in HxD, the bytes are changed back to what they were before. (Starts with an I).

(already edited in HxD, the changes were rolled back...)
