Gaming Use Media Center with XP Pro?

My 360 came in today and I noticed the Media Center options in it, but everything official I've read says that it requires XP Media Center Edition or Vista to use it.
Does anyone know if there's a way around that to use it with XP Pro or Ubuntu?

Edit: Many Google searches later, I found out I could do this with Winamp Remote (which is good for me because I use Winamp). But I'd still like to find a linux/ubuntu solution. I keep my movies on my ubuntu box and my music on my windows laptop.

I dont think there is any way of using the "Media Center" feature yet without having XP Media Center or Vista installed..

Anyways.. you mentioned Winamp Remote

Winamp remote uses Orb, (orb.com) .. it works with wii and ps3 aswell.

    rice video is really fast, there are some games i still use it for because they are problematic with gliden64 and other plugins dont run the game properly

    @BigOnYa AutoRCM here too with hekate as reboot to payload. Only time I need to push a payload is going from sysMMC back to emuMMC. But its just plug it into my phone and a second later I'm all set. I have all of my games with online features on sysMMC. Like Mario Kart, Mario Party games, etc.

    i think you just need to turn framebuffer emulation off in rice video and it fixes the slowdown
