After creating an .wbfs file from a game that I had to an wbfs partition I copied it to an ntfs hdd. usb loader sees the game but when launching it it gets black screen. The game plays fine from the wbfs partitioned hdd. Can anyone help. I used Simple WBFS File Manager 2.5. Latest usb loader gx dol and cIOS 38rev14
You need to have Hermes cios 222 rev 4 installed, and set it to global in the USB GX settings. It's the only way games on either a FAT or NTFS partition can be started.pluotnick said:dkmaster said:Yet another problem. I am having exactly the same problem. I am using a wbfs formated hdd and an ntfs hdd. The ntfs hdd has .wbfs games extracted from the wbfs hdd, but all i get is a blank screen. They play just fine on the wbfs hdd.
I transfered them using WBFS Backup manager 0.3.1 (latest). Using latest usb loader gx dol
Do I need a specific IOS for ntfs games? Hermes?

Currently FAT32 is the best. You can use one hard drive for every wii application, no SD card required at all.
NTFS would be better, because then you can have files larger than 4gb (with FAT32 you have to split files into parts smaller than 4gb). However it's just as easy to split files onto fat32 as it is to use a WBFS manager.
Just because WBFS was made for the purpose of storing Wii games, doesn't mean it does the job better. Not every invention is good.
If you're happy with WBFS then good for you, but someone starting out would be better off going for FAT32.
QUOTE(Eskeletor @ Dec 28 2009, 08:11 PM) Hi, I used to have my hard drive in wbsf but format changed to FAT32, previously installed the games from the dvd without problems but no now, I am using revision 875, if this is a known problem with fat32, thank you very much and excuse my English.

It's a NTFS filesystem, BTW slicer. Just remember this simple acronym:
Not The Finest System
If you can just remember that NTFS is a horrible filesystem, then you'll be fine.

Is that all? Or is it faster? For the most part, I only care about which one is faster than the others...
