Oh, I meant transfer speed. Not playing speed.oggzee said:Speed is equal for all file-systems (fat/wbfs/ntfs) with the same cios.Arm the Homeless said:Is that all? Or is it faster? For the most part, I only care about which one is faster than the others...
frostii said:Hi all,
HELP PLEASE !!!
I usually use ios249 to play all my games with no problems. Today I tried to fire up 'Band Hero' which resulted in a black screen. I switched to ios222 as i figured that's what was required. When i tried to reload USB Loader, I get a black screen, the light on the front of the Wii flashes briefly, then stays on for a second, then flashes briefly, then stays on again for a second. It keeps repeating this until I switch it off.
I have tried the following:
- reinstalling ios222 (rev 4)
- updating the loader to rev 874.
- deleting config files etc.
By deleting the config files i am able to get back into the loader, as it boots under ios 249. But the moment i change the global boot to ios 222, i get the black screen and wii light flashing again.
Any suggestions ???
Thanks in advance.....

I have to download the zip manually because my wii always hangs when I do it over wifi. So I hit 1 on the remote, get the url in the .txt file and put it in my browser. I then put in it my config folder.
It renames MOST of the games, but some are left out (notably Wii Sports Resort). Also my biggest problem, the parental controls don't work. I want to lock out some games from the little ones.
I think I may know one of my problems: game limit?
It seems that the URL generated does not have enough games listed.I have 431 games on my HD,and it looks like the url is way short of that(the URL has all Games listed).
Maybe this limit could be affecting the Parental controls function as well??
NTFS accepts both while FAT32 is only .wbfs. NTFS can use full .ISO files but that's such a waste of hard drive space.Cyan said:I want to make an HDD for my brother, I'm still wondering between fat32 or ntfs what would be easier for him. maybe NTFS with simple copy/past full ISO file will be easier.
I didn't follow closely the last improvement, and I didn't read it on this thread (or miss it), maybe it was said on config loader thread :
Does NTFS accept both .wbfs and .iso files using GX ?
or does GX is made to read .wbfs if it loads from FAT32, and .iso only if it loads from NTFS ?
If NTFS reads all file format, if I want to compress 4GB+ iso, can it reads single big cISO file too ? or only multi-file .wbfs ?
I hope these questions make sense ^^
I didn't try Wii backup manager yet, I'll check if it creates and renames iso and subfolders with game ID (I hope it does it automatically)![]()

Parental controls do work. Go to the usb loader settings>parental control> set your password, and set your hightest allowed control level, for example 2. Back out of the menu then go to the individual game you want to block out, click on settings for that game, then go to game load and set the parental control for that individual game a control level higher than what you previously set in the parental control console window and save. Back out to the main screen and click the little lock icon near the upper right to enable parental control and lockdown the usb loader.

This is what I get when I put a game as an ISO on to a NTFS partition
EG: ATV quad kings
SIZE 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes)
SIZE ON DISK 751 MB (787,730,432 bytes)
So it doesnt waste any space compared to the other file systems as far as I can see.
Finally I tested ntfs for my brother, but as GX is still buggy with it (I got code dumps when running games on r878) and my brother is not very good in computer, I changed to wbfs partition, I think it's easier for him to run a manager to copy/delete, and use an old and stable GX.EeZeEpEe said:NTFS accepts both while FAT32 is only .wbfs. giantpune said:you can try another loader to format the drive. try cfg loader or wanin's 1.5. or if you want to use FAT, you can do that on a MAC or with linux live CD.
note that you must use IOS 222/223 to use FAT.
I bought a WD my passport essential for my brother, and it came with a hidden UDF auto-mount CD partition with windows asking for driver each time I connected it.giantpune said:check the drive for hidden partitions. some manufacturers are now putting hidden ones on the drive and this causes issues with our app. if you do find one, destroy it and other partitions and start over.
