I would still like to see at least one example of two different covers that share the first 4 letters.

Let's see... I made a list of what seems to be the differences... Can I post them here as inlined images?
Below are NTSC images, to me most seem just duplicates, or different cut&paste jobs, with the exception of guitar hero, mario kart and mlb power pros and RTNE*.
I can't seem to make a conclusion. Are the duplicates below valid? Are RTNE* valid?
I can do this for pal images too if there is interest, and is allowed?

it has been corrected - if you open the image and refresh the page it should flush your cache and you should see the updated one.
Your PC is holding on to the old image in its cache and so your still seeing that.

The ones with the 00 are from people who dont know the last 2 digits , but have the first 4.
The problem is its really hard to confirm or deny a lot of these and some do seem to be different.

The one im most worried about is the Links crossbow training as this is a different game with the same code if its correct.
Work away on the Pal if you wish.

Ok, I'll continue then.

Here are the ntsc-j images with different last 2 letters:
The only difference in this case seems to be the sharpness in some images.

RT3J: RT3JDL RT3JEL

btw, the list is generated with:
Code:
for A in `ls | cut -c1-4 | sort | uniq -d`; do echo $A: $A* | sed 's/\.png//g'; for F in $A*; do echo -n '[img]http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/ntscj/'$F'[/img] '; done; echo; done

Power pros looks strange too, it looks to me the power pros and power pros 2008 are different games, so i guess the cover for RNUE8P should actually be what it is for RNUE00. but that is my guess.

Well, if nothing else, this comparison might point out wrong images...

I'll do PAL now, but it's gonna be HUGE.

PAL cover images, with the first 4 letters in common:
To me it seems the most duplicates are actually USA/NTSC covers?

it has been corrected - if you open the image and refresh the page it should flush your cache and you should see the updated one.
Your PC is holding on to the old image in its cache and so your still seeing that.

You are right. There is anything correctet but not all. In the game-name there ist still 2008 instead of 2009.

i have rereported this issue.

I am almost finished my Original disc label package (original as in what was in the box when you bought the game, not original artwork by me!), it currently consists of 18 NTSC-J, 160 NTSC-U and 109 PAL disc images. There's still a little cleanup work to do, but I'm wondering whether it would be a good idea to rotate them so the images are all upright (a lot of them are at funny angles). The GUI USB LOADER which first spurred the gathering of these images will be rotating them in code anyway, so I don't think it's an issue for them, but for general use, it might be.

Bear in mind that there will be a small loss in quality in order to do the arbitrary rotation, shouldn't be all that noticeable to be honest. What do you guys think? To rotate or not to rotate? That is the question!

As a side note, if anyone knows where I can find Japanese disc labels, I'd be grateful. I've scoured the usual places, http://www.console-covers.com/ http://www.cdcovers.cc/ and http://www.teambadattitude.co.uk/art/wii/disc.htm and I've done quite a bit of random googling for the more unknown sites, but not much luck.

Still have a little bit of cleaning up to do, but should be able to post something this evening

I would like to take a moment to thank all the people that make this possible. I really do appreciate it.
or i will if some one could kindly tell me how to get these to work with ultimate USBloader 7.4
I am just starting to get in to wii home brew, so a little help would be nice.

Link's Crossbow Training should be RZPE, and the second Mario Kart cover is a fake.

Are you cool to host them at 600 x 600? I know it's quite a bit larger than the current requirements, but requirements change

Would be nice to have some really good quality disc images on screen at some point. What kind of resizing algorithm does the site use anyway? Bicubic or bilinear interpolation? Or is is just nearest neighbour....I hope not
wink.gif
I'm just wondering what one of the covers would look like if it were resized from 600x60 to 160x160......

I am having a huge problem getting the transparent images to remain transparent when i resize them - ill keep at it , but it seems hard to get this to work which means the backgrounds come out black when resized

**edit** ok go it at last - just need a few images to test now.

OK guys, I promised I'd have something for this evening, and I know it's late, but things took a lot longer than I thought they would. I've only managed to get through the tweaking of the NTSC-J images, but I'll post them here anyway just to whet your appetite

Was more of a learning curve of how to alter and tweak them just right so they SHOULD all spin about their centre and look really sexy... I hope....

I haven't tested them anywhere so would be happy for feedback.

This is a sample of the work I've been carrying out on the original disc images I've been able to gather. They are fully transparent beyond the circumference of the disc and also in the centre. I have added a hand made graphic (made by me!) into the centre to give the appearance of the plastic that is in the centre of the disc.

It will probably take me a while to get through all the other images, (they're all renamed, just need to tweak them), but some of them take a while to fix up properly (missing pieces at the edges, rotation so they sit upright etc).

Anyway, I hope you guys like it (it's been a lot of work!) and look forward to the rest of the release!

Here's the link anwyay: Sample NTSC-J original disc label pack

Thanks nindim - i thought we were going to go with 3 digit names for these ones ?
Its going to confuse things if your using 4 and everyone else is using 3.
