Could you use cartridge adapters (SNES, NES, ect.) hook them to the USB port of the Wii/Wii U and have emulators read the roms off the cartridges?

Its not better do a rom dump from your cartidges and run from a sd card/pendrive? If you have the cartidges isnt illegal and you can keep him at good state.

Well technically... the device would have to be a dumper though and keep a copy of the cart in RAM after reading it (so that it doesn't save a copy of the full thing), which would increase the startup time as you need to wait for the dump to finish, and it'd probably be like a $60 device.

If you're asking about a simple pin adapter, no, there's like 20 reasons that won't work.

what other cartridge adapter with usb connector exist anyway ? there are only retrodes and yes, they are compatible with wii emulators, they are seen as a usb drive with a single rom on it (with a few tweaks you can even make emus automatically boot the game, which is fun)

So if using the Retrode USB Adapter on a Wii emulator you can put in a cartridge and (with tweaks) have the emulator automatically load the game off the cartridge?
