Hacking USA Wii with Original Wiikey not working after 4.3u any help ?

Hello everyone
A friend accidently updated my USA wii which as an original wiikey to firmware 4.3u ( ive installed version 1.99 wiikey update too )

now original jap games wont boot on it or backups, can anyone help me fix this please ?

copies and some original jap games wont boot any more, i dont have the homebrew channel or anything like that any help would be very much welcome

You can either launch your games with Gecko OS or NeoGamma using the correct settings, or you can install Priiloader and enable region-free disc-loading. Native region-free disc-loading with the Wiikey was disabled in 4.2, I believe.

ive managed to install the homebrew channel using smashstack with a copy of usa smash bros

where do i go from here please?

After installing the homebrew channel, if all you want to do is load backups get one of the two programs listed above (Gecko OS or NeoGamma) to use to load non-US games.


Nintendo in System Menu 4.2 implemented stricter region controls via the system menu disc loading option... This gets around it. The only other way around it is to install Priiloader and use the startup hack to remove the region check, but this option will not work next time nintendo updates the system menu priiloader will be overwritten and you'll have to reinstall it.

Just patch your 4.3U System Menu with Startpatch 4.3U.
A one time patch, then you'll be able to launch import dvd backups like you used to with your wiikey.

I actually would recommend NOT using startpatch unless you have bootmii as boot2. If something screws up with startpatch (and it does occasionally happen) it leaves you with a non-working system menu and no way to fix it. Priiloader can be set to autoload so you don't know it's there and provides a (limited) layer of protection at least.
