Hacking Upgraded firmware to 3.2U with VUM, but Dr Mario and FFC:MLAK still do

I've been searching all over the net for a solution to getting Dr. Mario to work. Originally I had 3.1U firmware and updated my system to 3.2U with WUM: http://wum.talevas.com/?page=dev

I patched a custom iso of Guitar Hero III with the 3.2U_B firmware and updated my system with that, but unfortunately, it did not solve any of my problems. The Wii still resets every time I try to load Dr. Mario or FFC:MLAK.

Has anybody else encountered the same problem? Help on this issue would be much appreciated.

you need 3.2v2. that version includes the WiiWare update. if you have MKWii, you can run WUFE to extract the update wads off the disc then install them.

Is there anyway to find the 3.2v2 wad files on the net? I'm pretty new to this, so I have no idea what to do once I do get those files. Please help.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to install it. I downloaded WAD Manager v 1.2 from http://wii.qj.net/WAD-Manager-v-1-2-with-W...g/49/aid/123480
I put the .dol file in a new folder under the Apps section on my SD card and renamed it boot.dol. I click on this app (called /apps/wadmanger v 1.2) and it loads all the wad files in the WAD folder. Not sure if its the file that I downloaded or me installing it improperly but it causes an error when I try to scroll down the list:

So then I try installing it with WAD Manager v 1.0 (the one that is pre-installed with homebrew channel), but it also gives me an error message:

Tried removing USB devices and Gamecube devices but to no avail. WAD Manager 1.2 is still buggy, but 1.1 works fine. However, I still get that -1305 error. I tried loading Mario Kart Wii, but I don't get the update screen from it.

Thanks for all your help. I'm just kicking myself for not updating my Wii to 3.2 before 3.3 came out. From what I've been reading, there currently are no games that contain update 3.2 v2. Hopefully the VUM list gets updated in the near future. I can only imagine that future WiiWare games will require version 3.2 to run.

From that list, it shows that the wad file extracted from Mario Kart Wii (RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v257.wad) is actually 3.1. Were you able to update to 3.2 with Mario Kart Wii, Sam?

no, it did not update my wii. why dont you just update to 3.3? the TP hack still works fine, and you can load trucha games via Gecko OS.

duh, of course they work! its a higher version with all of the updates from 3.2
