Yeah, all Walmarts in my area have been sold out of Vita's since Xmas.
Luckily Kmart had them in stock.
Bought one with cash.
Came back 2 days later because "I took it home plugged it in, the screen flashed and it wouldn't turn on".
They called the electronics guy over to check. He didn't even look at the vita in the little foam thing. He didn't even fucking LOOK AT IT. I could have stuffed a clay brick the same shape and weight in there and they would have returned it. He just made sure that he saw the charger in there, asked "You tried to charge it right" and I said of course.
He said "it looks good" and the lady said okay, asked for my zipcode (that's it, not address, phone, nothing) and then called the supervisor over to accept the return (I guess if it's over $50 or $100 cash coming out of the drawer the supervisor has to ok it).
Said thanks and went on my way.

You probably didn't think about the possibility that your online account,
as well as your name and address, are still linked to that vita.

That is what happens when you don't pay your employees a living wage. Oh well, its a tax right off for Kmart next year.

Haha, exactly, thank you!
As for people who didn't read the other thread completely, basically my IN-WARRANTY Vita broke for no apparent reason and Sony refused to repair it though it was in warranty and not an accidental damage, but rather some manufacturing defect that was not apparent until 11 months in. No one has to believe me, as I explained in the last thread, because I know what happened, and I know it's not physically possible to prove it to you all.

Yes, I committed fraud. Hear me care?
Who loses money in all this?
I guess, technically, Sony is the only one? Since they will not be getting my $130 repair fee, and will have to repair it themselves at cost?
KMart takes no hit (they get a replacement stock unit from Sony) and Sony will be refurbishing it and reselling it, so they take maybe a $30 hit? Yeah, well, when I bought a $250 system 11 monthes ago, I could care less for what kind of hit they take from it. It will take maybe... 1/4th of a second for them to make back that?

And no, I completely formatted all settings, payment settings, etc. of the old Vita BEFORE I took the memory card out.

Just wanted the people here to know what happened.

As to everyone in the thread who will say how "Fraud isn't right" "you're ripping off kmart" etc. don't forget that you are on a forum that is 100% based on "how to play pirated games".
Case closed, I'll never be posting here with this account again (probably?)

Wow, way to go with stereotyping bro. It's like saying all those in hacker forums are unethical sonofabitchin' mofos who create viruses and malware to screw people over and steal their hard-earned cash. Good job.

and inb4 the piracy debate. I won't say that piracy won't hurt the industry but I won't say that it does nothing either. But regardless, it is by far less "wrong" than what you did ie fraud. You can try to justify it. Fair enough. But to take a stab at all of us for calling out on you is just low.

And

Just because someone is rich or can make money quickly doesn't mean you can scam them. Just sayin'

But w/e. It's not like we can force you to turn yourself in or anything. What is done is done. I guess Kmart is at fault as well for negligence. Better luck next time, Sony.

If the broken Vita was 11 months old, why did you say that it broke after two days? What are you gaining from lying to us?
No no, he's not lying to us. He had another thread where he talked about it too.
He bought a Vita, had it in his pocket and it broke after 11 months. He want free repair, but the repair for a broken screen is $130. So he goes to Walmart / Kmart and buys a new one, swap the serial number sticker, places his old broken console into the new box with the receipt, goes back and say "hey this 2 day old console is broken" even though it's his old console.
