Hacking Hardware Unpatched switch mod chip questions

I’m thinking about modding my switch I got at launch, but the idea of having to carry around a dongle and an rcm jig don’t appeal to me. I found this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/interna...ybitsy-m0-express-guide-files-support.508068/
and I just had some questions.
Could I use any similar chip by Trinket by just linking the same contacts?
Could I boot into Hekate still? If so, how?
What does it mean in section 3 about only having dual boot if I don’t connect the blue point?
What are the odds of a brick if everything is soldered correctly?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
