I've successfully upgraded my OpenWii mod-chipped to 4.0U using this guide, but now NONE of my burned backups are recognized by the Disc Channel. I can launch discs via Backup Launcher and the USB loader can rip discs, but the Disc Channel only works with originals now.
you have a modchip? then it should work still... maybe cios60 is causing a problem. you should just install all of cioscorp

So I tried reinstalling IOS60 using the IOS60 updater and it corrupted my Wii System Menu so it was semi-bricked and wouldn't restart. After doing a little research, it turns out that this happens when you install IOS60 AFTER preloader, but thankfully, since I had preloader installed (originally installed in the proper order AFTER IOS60), I was able to boot in HBC and start over at the beginning of the guide, however, I ran into a few problems.

I successfully re-ran cIOS38_rev13-Installer and installed IOS249.

IOS Downgrader v1 did NOT work though. When I pressed A to continue, it simply told me it was restarting my Wii, and then it restarted. I tried this multple times, making sure to press A instead of B, but it always restarted. IOS Downgrader v1 worked for me originally when I originally successfully upgraded to System Menu 4.0, so I decided to skip the step.

Then I successfully ran cIOS Downgrader v1.2 and re-downgraded to System Menu 3.2. I decided to try a burned backup in the System Menu 3.2 Disc Channel, which always worked before because I have a modchip. But nope, backups don't work in 3.2 Disc Channel now either.

I decided to just go ahead and re-upgrade to System Menu 4.0, which worked. Then I re-re-installed IOS60 and it worked again. Then I re-installed preloader.

So now I'm right back where I started, but I still cannot play backups on my modchipped Wii from the Disc Channel in any System Menu apparently. Is it possible that whatever is causing backups to not work in the Disc Channel also prevented IOS Downgrader v1 from working?

I am reluctant to install cioscorp, but even if I wanted to, I can't seem to find "CIOS60BF.wad" because whenever I google "CIOS60HK.zip" as instructed, all I find are sites that are telling me to google "CIOS60HK.zip"

Managed to get everything running, thank you very much for a great package

IOS Downgrader works... you just already have the correct versions

this is pretty confusing. after running IOS-Downgrader and cIOS-Downgrader your backups should load. are you sure that your mod chip is installed correctly and working?
try an official nintendo update. that will remove everything besides channels and IOSs and should definitely fix your disc channel if the modchip is working.
you can obtain cios60.wad from the offline package or when googling look for japanese sites or rapidshare

sorry for the noob queastion
it's safe to go to 4.0 to my Wii with this guied ofcourse or I will have problems With games VC Wiiware and all that?
it Will work like now 3.3e?

Quick Noob question.
When installing any other ciosrev higher then 10. It seems that my cisocorp stops reading disc on the disc channel. Is the currently any way around that?

The reason I still want to play games through disc. So I can use my ethernet adapter that usb loaders don't support currently.

quick question.

specs

installed hbc on 3.4E , downgraded , yesterday to 3.2E en then updated to 4.0E thru Wanikoko. but if i want to play rayman TV it asks me for a update,.\

dont understand it because Rayman TV has a update 3.4E
i know i can disable this thru preloader but is there another way ?

Is there a missing ios ? and can i install this manuel (extracting partition with scrubber and inport ios or something ) ?

i installed 4.0 in the hope i didnt got questions to update the Software

I run prepare.bat select 418 (for 4.0E) and then get a bunch of NUSD errors and no downloaded nintendo .wads, has the server moved the files?

I had the same problem..just keep trying. Keep trying to download it eventually every file will download correctly and MooSFV will confirm that these files are indeed working .wad files.

It took me at least 10 tries get all the files downloaded (and confirmmed)

I dont see why IOS249 would affect the disc channel... only cios60 should. You could try reinstalling cioscorp after installing the latest cios. check your preloader settings too. try reinstalling it and only enabling skip disc update.

Im not sure why the program would crash but if you run it repeatedly it will only download the missing ones

Sorry if I didn't want to search through 58 pages, but when I try to install the cios_fix using the offline method it gives me an error (ret = -1035) What's up with this?
