TX Presents SX OS v2.4.1 BETA

Only a few days later and here we are with SX OS v2.4.1 from TX.
SX_241.jpg

The release of SX OS v2.4 BETA a few days ago, was very successful, but there was a 'few minor' bugs in it, and Team-Xecuter as usual was quick to listen to feedback and they have now just release v2.4.1 BETA which fixes those minor issues, but that is not all if you read thru the changelog below, you will noticed they have added some cool new functions for all to enjoy, so check it out now! :)
Hot on the heels of our 2.4 beta release!

We are happy to bring you a small update which fixes some outstanding bugs and introduces some new functionality.
  • Fixed payload menu freeze
It was reported that since v2.4 the "payload" menu used for launching external payloads was freezing up. This has been fixed, you can now enjoy your external payloads again!
  • Fixed installer incompatibility with recent NSP files
Some recent NSP content (like the Super Smash Bros update) wasn't installable using our NSP installer. All your recent NSP's will work now!
  • Firmware 4.1 booting again
A small regression got introduced in SX OS v2.4 leaving users with a (emunand) firmware on 4.1 unable to boot. We wasted no time to figure out the root cause, and SX OS should now be compatible with every firmware version again!
  • White squares on split XCI files
Some split XCI content was not showing the icons properly, instead rendering a white rectangle. This is a thing of the past now!
  • Add support for split NSP files
We've had support for splitting XCI content for a while now. This is needed for bigger games for people who enjoy SX OS from a FAT32 formatted microSD card. NSP content is now also supported in a split format. The file extensions used should be in the format of: .ns0, .ns1, .ns2, etc.
That's it for this small stopgap release. Keep an eye out for our coming updates!

(As usual, please remember all our latest releases & apps, can be found on our sx.xecuter.com portal website)

Nice update! Happy about the payload freeze fix and, in my case, the icons were indeed all white under "Albums" for Diablo 3 and Okami.

I don't understand the NSP split support? I mean I split nsps before (splitNSP) and played ok on sx os so is this some kind of built-in tool?

Is there something people are doing with nsps I'm not aware of? Why are these managers used? Why would someone want to see all their nsps, updates, dlcs, even after install?

But you're saying you've used splitNSPs and they play well enjoy my understanding is that nsps just extracted it's contents somewhere into the switch. Why would spliting effect the playing of the game in any way?

Hi,
Currently on 5.1FW - can I please confirm that the latest Smash update (and other latest updates) can be installed and played with this version of SX OS, or will I still need to update to 6.2FW?

Thanks.
PS, no I do not want to use Tinfoil if I can avoid it.

The latest Smash update *needs* 6.2 FW. If you installed it on a 5.1 FW it will show a spinner icon and won't load due to missing 6.2 FW keys.

You can repack both the 1.1.0 and the 1.2.0 Update to work on 5.1.0 using this:

Works just fine with SX OS.

That guy is not very smart. You'd think after his first switch got banned that he'd keep his second switch legit if he wants to play online....but no. Funny enough i've been using sxos on both of my switches and neither one is banned.
3 months and counting, no bans :P the first time I got banned for lack of information. This time it wont happen.

so funny , like some 80's shiity journalism...

What you have wrong with the '80's - Some of my best years, -- Sorry if I am old enough to be your grandpa, but that is the way it is. :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

My biggest wish is enabling NSP install onto the usbhdd.

My biggest wish is just to 'mount' and 'launch' NSP like XCI instead of installing it, there really no reason to waste all that time 'installing' if you not going online, and its not an legit eShop (soon to be renamed by Nintendo) 'purchase', there is really only 1 byte difference between the two. -- I rather just 'launch' instead of installing things to Horizon OS, and messing up the title-database. -- Just my two cents worth.

So what do you do differently now?
ZERO NSP, only XCI and I update my XCI's OFFLINE via this and so far so good :) Is a test i've been running for quite a while now to report back to @Draxzelex when if I get banned, that way we will have a very solid proof SX OS and XCI loading gets you banned!

So let me get this straight, you're going to censor people from having an opinion because it doesn't fall within your TX fantasy world? Then if you really don't like it, further action will be taken to censor people even more with an account suspension.
There is a thread for your valued opinion, and the moderator in question linked said thread. So please go there to vent.

Where are people obtaining the 1.2 smash update from?
sources

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Then why allow posts on it in the first place? Wouldn't the logical solution be to lock the thread straight up?
You probably missed it, but there is people actually reporting bugs or speaking about features of SX OS. You can find them, if you look really closely between all the posts that basically come down to this:

Couldn't you rebuild your nsps/xcis with the following to make them all to your xci?

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
