This works like charm to me, well i just install the starter kit and let it overwrite the old files on my sd, then download the ropbin and change it to menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin and replace the old one, then my auto boot also work, eshop works, btw, is there any way for my smash bros usa cart to update on my jap 3ds?even if i change the region of the game on hans

I'm genuinely confused. I was about to set up BrowserHax for Homebrew normally but used the latest 2.5 payload for my O3DS 9.4.0.21E and the themehax installer but when I did the whole slider thing on the browser, it freezes up and never boots to the Homebrew Channel. Why is this? Before it worked fine but I wanna update now for Hans romhacking (Im not that great with Homebrew since I dont actually just understand much)

Since you already have themehax on there, just get rid of the themehax installer and don't use it. You've no more use for it as it's already served it's purpose. Then try the steps from the OP again and it should work.
I guess I did NOT get the green screen, as every time I'll go to Themehax by pressing the L button, the screen always starts with WHITE before turning to BLUE & RED & the Homebrews...
Maybe I have to re-do everything again ><

Boot up themehax and if you see a green screen, that's an indication you now have 2.5 installed! Congratulations!

What do you mean by this? Do you mean I must keep an eye if if the screen goes GREEN on my installation/re-installation only? Or do you mean it must be GREEN every time I load Themehax by pressing "L" ?

Ok simply I must be the odd duck out.... I use smea's ropbin put on microsd then rename it on N3DS. I've done this with my previous install and with the offline installer too. All i get is the magical rainbow screen. My Ver is 9.9.0.26J

Edit: Even offline otherapp install doesent work.... Idk if it did

Just wanted to give a thanks to op!

I kind of live under a rock and don't pay much attention to these things, but I finally got themehax up and running, shame I had to sacrifice my custom theme, but a worthy sacrifice nonetheless.

I used sliderhax as my entry point, used the offline themehax installer, then downloaded everything from smea's site, and replaced the ropbin payload as instructed.

Tested out HANS just to make sure and I am able to access E-shop!

For some it works, for others not so. Unfortunately N3DS users are stuck because of lack of instructions.

Could anyone who's gotten themehax working manually on their N3DS, please step forward and help with instructions?

For N3DS users, it's best to just copy the name of the old menuhax payload you have installed already and rename your payload according to that.

As a "first time installer" here I don't really get what you mean with that, also why is there a newer version of themehax built into the starter kit already when there's no way to "normally" install it? It's confusing me ^^"

As far as I'm aware, themehax installer in the starterkit is not working at this time. That's why I supplied the offline installer in case someone wanted to install it now, but you still need to follow the steps afterwards to get 2.5

Also it's a bit hard to explain but in the root of your SD card, if you already have themehax installed there should be a file that looks something like "ropbinpayload_menuhax_********_new3ds.bin" except it has the region and number of your 3DS there. You copy that file's name and paste it in the payload you download, then use it as a replacement for the original.
