Okay, I have I understand that since I have no themehax currently installed that I need to start by getting the offline themehax installed which will put 2.1..but I have no idea how to install it once i get the installer on the SD. Could someone help meh...
You need an entry point. Which in this scenario depends on your firmware. If your firmware <9.9 then you got browserhax, but if your firmware is >=9.9 then your only option is CN, OOT, Ironfall

Consider it inception, to install an entry point, you need another entry point.

I can't use browserhax because i'm being prompted to install the update. I thought there was a way to install 2.1 using an offline method?

Yes that's what I said to install themehax you need an entry point into HBL, the options are stated in my last reply.

3dsx files can only be used and read in HBL

Okay, so how do I get one of those? Won't I be prompted to update if I try to get them from the shop?
Their digital copies won't help, they were taken down, you need a physical copy of Cubic, or the old OOT or if you were lucky enough to get Iron fall from the eShop before it was removed. If the copies are hard to obtain, you might wanna invest on a SKY3DS as you can find plenty of digital dumps floating around the Web.

Your last option is smashax but to get the demo you need to be able to get into the eShop

So basically, at this moment, I cannot install themehax.?

is possible to use eshop spoof in O3DS 9.4?

i try with browserhax but didn't open
and themehax cant be 'installed' for me i dont know why or how to do that:cry:

So this is still not 100% clear why it is working with the payload named ropbinpayload_menuhax.bin on n3DS.

My original ropbin file in my JAP N3DS ropbin was ropbinpayload_menuhax.bin.

I downloaded the one from smea's website and the name is POST5_J_19456_9221, I renamed it like the one above and it doesn't work.

Also tried renaming it ropbinpayload_menuhax_jap19456_new3ds.bin and is a no work neither.

Any idea what should I rename it anyone?

I'm on a N3DS 10.1.0.27E and the ropbin file is named N3DS_E_20480_9221.bin.
How do I go about renaming it so it works for the 2.5? I tried renaming it ropbinpayload_menuhax_EUR20480_new3ds.bin but this gives me an error whenever I boot themehax

Same issue for me...i am on eur N3ds xl 9.5, tried to follow the n3ds tutorial and it doesn't work...instead it works flawless with the o3ds method...i am sure is booting 2.5 cause it doesn't freeze when i close the lid, and HANS and Eshop both works

on N3DS XL USA, None of the methods worked besides putting every single combination on my SD until it did work, when it finally did work it had been by renaming the ropbin to "menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin" I don't even know if this is what made it work, it was just the last thing I tried before it did work, but I have like every ropbin name in this thread, along with correct region/names etc for them

try JPN***** (with jpn uppercase) instead of jap*****

Since n3DS users seem to be able to get it working by renaming the o3DS way, I've removed the n3DS method and left the o3DS method only. This should work for both systems.
When I used the o3DS method it's not updated to 2.5, because Homebrew Launcher freezes when I go in sleep mode and return
