Fortunately for me I found a reasonably priced copy of Baten Kaitos: Origins on the internet and the seller turned around and shipped it out after I ordered it.
I have been playing the backup on my chipped Wii and during this running battle with "The Lord of the Lava Caves" there have been multiple times that I had to reinsert the backup a dozen times before it was read. Finally, the game just refused to read the disk at the, presumably, end of the battle. (Over the course of playing the game I had to reinsert the disk on 2 previous occasions both of which were battles.)
I burned the game with ImgBurn on a Memorex Lightscribe which has worked fine for Wii games.
Anyhow for the future I want to know how to burn a GameCube game. A source of blank disks and a guide would be helpful. I found one topic where the poster said that burning at 4x worked.
Maybe the smaller discs are so that they are less likely to warp from the heat of the GameCube?
