Just for the ones which are interested as @Underprivlidged ,
I've wrote some security fixes and changed completely how the link has been generated.

Hope someone could send me some feedback on what's could be better.

Thanks everyone!

Neat but a little bit bored appearance and register ? No, no thanks. I will stick with what I am having for my Switch. If it ain't broken then don't fix it. To be honest, I like a nice appearance one and yours doesn't suit me at all.

To be honest, I will keep my eyes on yours for fun and to see how much you can improve it that's all. By the way yours required register is not necessarily and I don't want that. It doesn't make sense, thought. Keep up the good work, thought!

Mmm I don't think is possible. How can I let you see a list of NSP in your google drive without anyone access to it? It's not a registration, is just a username and password random for get it back on your switch.

How does it work, does it directly install nsp from google drive without needing to download?
Nope. It let you manage a list of drive links in a website (which is accessible from every devices) and you can install them directly on your switch from Tinfoil.
You do not have to download them to your PC and mirror it to your switch.

Long story short: It let you install any drive NSP inside your switch without having to add new file browser location every time.

So, does tinfoil download nsp to your switch and install or it just install them through internet? My sd card is tight so the first one may not work.

Mmm I don't know... I've asked clarifications to Vertigo in his discord. I'm going to update you when I'll have info. If you want to join, that's the Discord link

That link doesn't work. You have to put invite links on "infinite". :)

But to answer the question: Since Tinfoil (and HBG shop which is a fork of that) install any games larger than 4 GB on FAT32 just fine, I'd say, it's an on-the-fly install and it doesn't download it before.
Or even if it does, it is separated into chunks.
But I'm sure @blawar can answer this within a second.

Also since HBG shop is technically Tinfoil, this should work in HBG shop as well. Did anyone try yet?
Would be nice to add things to it, that are not present in HBG shop.

I don't know what's going on now but it automatically renames my added game.
Started today creating an account and adding ARMS to it. Named it "ARMS" and it appeared in the list just fine.
Now I want to add Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker but whatever I do and whichever browser I use, it always removes all white spaces and puts an ".nsp" at the end.
Why?

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker turns into CaptainToad:TreasureTracker.nsp
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
turns into CaptainToadTreasureTracker.nsp

Edit: Oh it automatically added ".nsp" to ARMS as well.
I don't care as much about the .nsp as for the white spaces. Can you re-enable them?

Edit 2: Also a way to rename already added items afterwards would be cool. ;)

Can this be used with 90dns or will there be a throttle on speeds and incognito is recommended?

No problem at all with 90dns I think. All depends on where Google Drive server are located.

Hi, that's a feature. I'm feeling like Apple a features hidden behind an error.
It grab automatically the Google Drive name because leaving white space could potentially cause an error during installation.

I see. Guess I can survive with that info, thx a bunch.
Tried it with ARMS in HBG Shop yesterday and it worked like a charm.
Btw while putting in the connection in Tinfoil/HBG Shop do we need to fill out the username/password fields as well or can they be left empty?
I put in my tinson login and it worked. Didn't try to do it without the login data.

This seems like an interesting project! I look forward to your future updates, security and the like. Just to confirm, it is not necessary that you put in YOUR (or anything related to your) Google Drive, just the Gdrive locations where files are hosted?

Do you think you could get Tinson working with Goldleaf? I know Tinfoil (the .io version that everyone is discussing) is popular, but it and its author seem to be controversial for both ideological and technical reasons; my biggest concern is that it doesn't appear the up-to-date version of this branch is open source. The option to work with Goldleaf instead would be greatly beneficial to many users. I'm not sure what changes need to be made on Tinson's side or if something needs to be added to Goldleaf, but if the latter is necessary perhaps its author will weigh in. In any case, an interesting little project indeed, keep up the good work!

No, you can put in any Google Drive link that is sharable but keep in mind that "more or less public links" often are restricted since they've been downloaded too many times.
So creating (free) Google accounts and copying over the NSPs to your drive to install them from their is the better option.
My tip: Get a 1 $ Unlimited Account from ebay (they might get nuked after some time though but it's worth the dollar).
Otherwise consider getting a GSuite Business accuont for 10 $ / month and use it for other things as well (Movies, TV shows for KODI and so on).

Edit: It's up to Goldleaf to support Tinson, not vice versa. However blawar is pretty fast with new Tinfoil releases and if you don't wanna change your Atmosphère/KOSMOS setup, there's a modded NRO for that.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate this.
Unfortunately GoldLeaf must add a feature for support Tinson and, generally, everything which download directly from a link.
I've already wrote to the dev some time ago but I've not received any response. Hope he will read this and start a little collaboration.

Thanks again :)

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
