nice work WangJang sorry to be a pain but when will the next release of this amazing editor be coming out.what i mean is as this one has some bugs is it ok to go ahead and start using for full gameplay or was this just a tester.thanks again and take care....................sudeki300

you should put in money & key items etc like with the Chinese save editor in your next version
not that the chinese one was hard to use plus it worked on the english rom as well
keep up the good work

ok, this is messed up. I made a custom save file, and loaded it onto my G6...

it was still pulling up my old save slots, so I replaced the .0, .1 & .2 files...still the old save slots.

ok, weird...so I deleted the ROM from my card, and deleted all of the save files also.

I copied the ROM back to my G6, with no save fiile at all...and the 3 old save slots are still there!

I'm obviously missing something here :\

edit: nevermind

I think thats enough Hanafuda bashing, thats not what this thread is about.

Thanks Shinji I appreciate that. But I'm quite alright with being bashed. Someone made the point that this game is not played online, and that's something I hadn't considered much. Unlike MPH, MKDS, ACWW, etc., where this kind of hack ruins the game for everyone, this one just ruins the game for the person who chooses to cheat. So, enjoy cheating yourself out of the enjoyment of finishing the game for real. Just don't tell people that you did finish it if you used this editor to alter your levels or inventory - that'd make you a cheat AND a liar. (i wouldn't go this far if i hadn't been called an idiot and asshole already)

Wangjang, they are also correct that I should have said something nice if I was going to say something ... and I will. The utilities available here ... fixing checksum, converting saves for use in different carts ... very nice and potentially useful for all. there's certainly nothing wrong with creating such an app, it's all about how it's used. I do understand that. it's just unfortunate that "trainers" and editors are always abused.

well, its not like this wasn't gonna happen, but it sucks just the same.

You're an idiot.

Actually, he does have a point.

Some people come to recognize that cheating at a good game ruins it. Others don't.

Some games can actually get better with cheating.

I won't cheat at FF3, because it's easily doable without and I do not want to ruin it for me (having everything results in nothing having a value).

having a problem applying changes
i switched a weapon lets say long sword to a air knife it wont work

After you made the changes and were about to quit, you should have been prompted to save the changes, did you save ? from what i can see here weapon changing is working fine at my end.

Aw man, from the looks of this it should be awesome. I can't wait to get home from work to try this out! Thank you so much WJ!!!

The topic was started today, and it's already got 31 posts!?! O.O
/me goes back to project 8

You need to get the old save out of the G6's sram, otherwise the new save will be overwritten.

1) Load the game onto the cart if it isn't already on there.
2) Put the cart in the DS and turn it on.
3) Wait for it to process data at the G6 menu. Do not start the game! Turn off the DS.
4) Remove the G6 from the DS and put the save file on it.

Should work now.

i still cant get it to work on m3...i load the m3 to backup the save from ram, then copy the edited one from my hd, start up the m3 and ffIII, but i believe i saw a breif message "initializing backup utility" and then the game showed the intro but my save was gone....any ideas?

The problem with the M3 saving is related to that fact that WangJang is overwriting the internal name of the rom stored at 0x4000 or around about there in the save with the name of his rom which will cause more problems not to mention he shouldn't need to change anything in that area anyway
