What I'm more interested in is, why people think that human beings like these -
- are 'running the world'.
Ok - lets see. You take a sect. That believes in rites. And a frankly - pretty strange - organizational structure with 33 ranks (or are there m0re?) - thats very inefficient by corporate sociology standards, that does what - weekly meetings to discuss world events and 'how to better the human state starting with yourself'?
Here is the deal. If you are a poor farmers son with a short temper, a power wish and no morals whatsoever - you end up as president of Alibaba (not researched him just going by one public appearance) in no time.
If you are a snobby socialite, that shakes hands with people for living, it mostly depends on which boarding school you went to or - in some underdeveloped parts of the world (*joke*), which college (who have their own secret societies - but mostly as old boys clubs (essentially create strong bonds between men of a certain standing and the same year, then use them as informal networks to advance the life of everyone in them - and the group as a whole).
If you are a mentally instable person, that believes, gaining rank 21 will teach you the secrets of the universe, you join our posterboys fraction, because you are in a form of social/mental treatment, likely.
Fair?
Look - he's even got two medals. *rolleyes* Oh, oh - and some son of a royal family was part of them some time ago. As if they didn't have 'people with odd ideas' problems, over the years..
