I see active GBAtemp staff and members talking in there everyday. And last time I checked, GBAtemp IS GBAtemp.
Just because there's a vague rule that IRC drama should be kept on IRC, and not on the forums, does not mean that GBAtemp's IRC server is unrelated to the site.

I didn't mean it in an offensive way, I meant that there's some rather distinct userbases between GBAtemp and its IRC. Some people hardly contribute to IRC but are big on the site. Others, visa versa.

Basically if you're hated on one place you may find haven in the other.

Trust me when I first joined I had the worst time here and now look at me.

I could understand if this was at school or something, but it's the bloody internet. Majority of people you speak to on here you will never meet in real life, and if you enjoy this site, but are leaving because a few people hate you, well, all I can say is, get over it.

Well I have been going through the channel logs up to the point you left IRC and you know, I don't blame you for not wanting to be on there in all honesty. To play devils advocate, sure you were pretty irritating on the channel, but its not like you were trolling or anything like that, and I have seen far worse in my day.

Peoples attitude to you, even despite the fact that you were/are a little annoying was pretty sickening. Its why our IRC server is fucking dead at the moment, newcomers get chased off that way all the time, mainly because they are new and don't know how to conduct themselves properly on the channel. I have seen it happen a million times, regulars ganging up on newcomers, before newcomers have found their feet and learnt how to settle into the channel. I guess its easier for them to do that instead of taking the time and patience to help someone settle in. If I was around at the time I would have tried to calm things down a little as I often do in those instances. But unfortunately I wasn't.

To further play devils advocate I do think this is a rather attention seeking thread, and there's no real need for it. We always have a separation between IRC and the forum, they are two different places, with different communities, with different formalities and so on. So honestly I don't see how what happened on irc equates to leaving the forum. But whatever, do as you please.

It's hard to make much sense of that log without knowing what Zorua said beforehand to be honest, so all i can do is look at how badly it was handled by the others. Not very impressed by the attitude on the opposing side, especially considering the conduct from an IRC staff member. Feel free to attack me if you like, i'm making no secret of this opinion. I just don't think it was handled very gracefully. Unless Zorua was attacking people and/or spreading around porn or illegal shit, i can't think of why he was attacked so unfairly. Take that as you will, i do NOT know the entire scenario and my comments are reluctant unless i can understand what was said to deserve such flames.

From the sound of it, lilsypha seems to be serious at least. I'm glad to hear Antoligy wasn't, but whatever. I'll stay my full support unless i get the entire story. Any info on what exactly was being irritating?
