Why is this so relatable? I couldn't put an N64 Analog stick case back together after cleaning it out. I stripped the screw for a PS3 HDD. I disconnected a ribbon/clamping cable for the controller ports on a PS2 fat on accident and broke the clamp holding it. I've taken apart a PS3 controller to get a loose piece out only to not be able to put it back together.

I tried to fix my friend's 2DS. Couldn't unscrew the screws, so I tried to break it. Well, I have succeeded. The SD Card slot is broken,
the thing itself still half open and I can't close it, and I didn't fix it's issue. (which was it wouldn't turn on)

I tried to fix the battery cover holder on my psp with a new shell and now the UMD door doesn't close, and the stick doesn't work well unless you press hard on the corner of the psp, which causes the home button to register a press. :-|
I messed up real bad.

my laptop, i tried to install linux (manjaro kde) the bootable usb would not boot, or when it did it would not recognise the nvme ssd and say there wasnt anywhere to install to, tried to format through software, because since this is an nvme drive, i cant do what i used to do, which is to unplug the drive and plug it in an enclosure, windows 10 corrupts, then i try ubuntu, and it gives me an error saying "ubuntu does not support rst with optane, please change your configuration, i change it to ahci, it works, then i say "hey, i should try manjaro again", so i install it, works first try, then the file explorer starts giving errors after an hour or so, i reboot, and it now wont boot into manjaro, or any bootable usb i've tried (ubuntu, manjaro and windows)

My PS4 Pro :(
It stopped reading BlueRay discs, so I decided to replace the BD-Lense (I am experienced in such stuff). A month later the lense came and I took the bd drive apart. Dumb me I forgot to remove a gamedisc beforehand. Thought it will be ok. Long story short after replacement and reassembly it trashed the mechanics. The PS4 Pro tried to insert a disc even if a disc is already present.

Got a replacement drive. Discs won't be inserted and are not read anymore. Googled the problem and I had to replace fuses on the mainboard which are tied to the BD controller. After replacing them (a fuse was indeed burned) the problem still persists and there is no solution to find online :(

Worst thing is. Without a working BD-Drive I can't install updates or the console will brick. It is essentially bricked because I cannot connect online anymore (fw too old) and games cant be run/installed anymore. :(

Ouch! The new drive won't work because it isn't married to the motherboard. It requires swapping the boards of the drives or at least the chip with encrypted data authenticates the drive as legit.

Tried to fix this Gameboy Color, but now it's just filled with beans.

I tried opening an iPod Mini to change the battery, and upon disconnecting the ribbon cable, it was brittle and broke. It would have been cheaper to just buy another one instead of fixing this one, so I just threw it in the trash.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
