The Return of the GBAtemp Podcast: Revival Revengeance Test Ep #1

Hello there, GBAtemp! We've got something fun to showcase for everyone; we're bringing back the Tempcast! @chavosaur and I got together to record a test episode, and had some fun talking about some interesting rumors and general gaming news. We've got a "real" revival episode planned, coming soon, but for now, we thought that putting the test recording out would be a fun way to get some input from the userbase! We hope you enjoy it, and look forward to our upcoming endeavors!

As usual we don't have to tell y'all to hold back but seriously, don't hold back in your feedback for the test. It will help make it a better listening experience for y'all. We want to keep creating cool content that puts us in our own league against all the other "legit" sites. You can expect us to talk about game news, controversies, hacking updates and more whenever we get the opportunity to.

Oh, and don't expect this lineup all the time. Plenty of guests and rotating staff can make an appearance. Endoverend was one of the original people along with chary that wanted to bring this back so he will also be recurring as soon as he's able. And I hear a friendly neighborhood spider-mod will appear from time to time :Bortz:

Now TAKE MY BABBLING IN YOUR EARS YOU TEMPO'S!!!

Also please forgive my being 90 light years away from the mic lol. I'll try to not be unevenly quiet next time. This is a learning process, and it's been years since I've done any audio editing, so please offer advice if you see, well, hear, something you have input on!

Really loved this first podcast! Can't say a lot of the topics were my cup of tea or intrigued me very much (I don't follow a lot of the series mentioned in the video), but I still listened to all of it nevertheless, and I'm so massively impressed that this idea has found its way back to the Temp again! :D Looking forward to hearing some other topics that'll hopefully grab my attention

Yeah, when I was editing it, it kind of hit me, that perhaps Assassins's Creed wasn't the best topic for the target audience, but I think it'll be great to be able to cover a wide variety of stuff, and just talk about recent things in gaming. Glad you liked it! :)

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
