It's spring-mounted (I removed the spring) and was made and purchased by me BEFORE any clones were made. My microSD is a Kingston Japanese 2GB. It's never given me trouble before. My DS (and I mean all the ones I have tried) is a cobalt blue/black DS Lite. They were all brand new and worked perfectly BEFORE I put in my R4/microSD. I'm absolutely sure something went wrong when I wrote GRID onto it. It worked perfectly before. It's also worth mentioning that I updated my CHEAT.dat to Narin's update as well. There's nothing wrong with his dat or the GRID rom. It's got to be some sort of data corruption.

If it's a data corruption, then it can happen on ANY flashcart using any type of micro SD memory. Sometimes when I'm copying a game to my R4, something will happen to my computer (I have an old computer) and the transfer will stop abruptly. I know the transfer wasn't complete but on the card, it shows the game is there and complete. I'm 100% positive that if I try to play the game now, it'll brick my DS so what I always do when this happens is just re-transfer the game and make sure the transfer is complete.

Very plausible explanation here. This explains why your MicroSD works, your R4 works alone, but it bricks your DS if you combine them.belzilep said:It's possible too that the loading mecanism in the R4 is broken, causing a short-circuit between two pins of the MicroSD (or any part only activated when there is a MicroSD to complete the power loop) and increasing the amps enough to blow a fuse. You can't really know. Best choice is to ditch the R4, if you ask me.
Or you could open the R4 and look at the connections. If you still can read the MicroSD on PC, it should be fine. Still reformat it though, there could be data corruption. and check the MicroSD pins too, a PC is more resistant to power surges.
I'd love to know that as well. The thing is that once you remove the spring from an R4, the microSD never really fits very well anymore. You put it in and it slides around. I see a possibility of circuitry problems from that.klaw224 said:Well I did some research (cuz im gonna buy a Cyclo DS this week) The Cyclo DS isnt Spring loaded.
What im wondering is Has anyone experienced a Cyclo DS bricking their system????
