Hacking The Preloader Guide

I am using the USB Loader GX and the Configurable USB Loader, can I use Preloader along with those 2 USB Loaders? I also have BootMii installed as well, will Preloader affect BootMii and/or the USB Loaders or vice versa? thanks

Preloader can be installed and will not affect the loaders or bootmii

No they will not conflict in any way they all do completely different things. and its safe to install them all.

thanks, now I can't install any Systemmenu Hacks, it says "Couldn't find "hacks.ini" neither on FAT nor on NAND!, what to do now? thanks

Is there a hacks.ini for 3.1e PAL?

I've done A LOT of searching. I still can't find a working hacks.ini. Tried several generators too, with the 3.2 setting. Do I have to update to use Preloader?

I have also tried reinstalling the Preloader, hoping it would write the new hacks.ini to the NAND again. Thanks for any help.

Preloader does not like SDHC cards your better off getting a 2GB or less SD card as it just doesnt use them very well or not at all.

I used NandClean to uninstall it but the Wii still boots into the Preloader menu? what do I do now?

I have never installed preloader and i dont want to tell you false information to uninstall it so my apologies however i have heard that between nand clean and downgrading or upgrading your wii you can get rid of preloader. dont worry once your done you can go back to your current system menu.

I know I can go into my system menu but I want to install those hacks, I tried using a SD card but still got the same error message, I have searched and found that if I install my SystemMenu v289 wad, it will erase Preloader but where can I get the wad? I checked google but every place charges $ for downloading the wad? thanks

Ok i dont use the wads to change system menus i used cIOS downgrader to get to 3.2 and i stay there but i guess that you want to do differently.

Yes, it's supposed to.

However, I tried using the US hacks with the Korean Sysmenu and they didn't work.

It's too bad, but I don't think any coder is going to be inclined to create a hack.ini for the Korean Wii.

Ive upgraded to 4.0 with the Ultimate Guide on here from a 3.2 TP hacked Wii. Ive used preloader along with Crazy's on my 3.2 system. All loaded fine I read through your guide and d/l HIC and went step my step creating a hacks.ini with the hic.exe. Used .28 and checked things I wanted, saved and put at root of my sd card. I did notice that the hacks.ini that was created was around 970 bytes but it replaced a 1.97 KB hacks.ini on the Sd card. I get Cant find a 417 ini when I try to load hacks.
HIC does put the new hacks.ini ( the one I have done changes to) in the the same folder as hic.exe? Just overwrites hacks.ini.

After much readin I think it was preloader .29 didnt like my HP card.

Yes either downgrade to 3.2 or upgrade to 4.0

HI i want to install the preloader. i have read what needs to be done to do it but i also read somthing about IOS60. being needed before the preloader should be installed. is this correct? if so then i might need alittle more help. my system is ver4.0 i have gamma ,HBC bootmii but not on boot2. but you know this im sure since i have 4.0 when i did my softmod i used downgrader35.dol IOS35.wad cIOS_249.wad wadmanager1.4 to install the wads. right now its doing update check which is why i want to install preloader. Also i dont have a GC controller so i have not made a backup of my namd yet. but it really doesnt matter if i cant get the preloader installed correctly

Use WiiPower's Trucha Bug restorer to patch IOS36 (using cIOS). Then you'll be able to install Preloader.
