we cant be sure if its a hardware problem i dont think its possible but if its a firmware problem i think the m3team can

Has anyone tried replacing the splash movie in 1.34? I suspect it's a soundless DSM, but I don't have the time to prepare a film to test my theory.

Well, I checked the "splash.ini" file. it's not a DPG or DSM video so I'm not sure how to go about creating a replacement. You can however delete the splash file and you will just get a black top screen during startup, and then the menu loads up just fine.

I just checked the English version of the firmware and I just found out that the Japanese text on my MP3s don't display at all. It just shows "????" instead. In fact, none of my Japanese text files or ROMs with Japanese titles show up correctly. I already requested for it to be fixed here.

You can fix it yourself

Just use the 'other file'
I mean, I don't remember the name of the pair-file for messages.00X (CHRGLPH.00X, I guess)
Just take the chrglyph.932 (or smth like that) from the hacked 1.12 +/a version, rename the extension from 9XX to 00X (000, I guess) & replace the original chrglyph-file by the "Old-New" one

When I extracted the file, but I got an error message saying "Invalid or corrupt authenticity information." I cleared my cache and re-downloaded the file again, but got the same thing. I can extract the file, but I just get that error message. I know what you're saying about how to do it though, so I'll rename the file myself. Thanks for coming up with the fix! I'll let you know if it works

The download has already been updated with TouchPod v4.3. Do you mean include mc_B3oWoLF's fix for Asian fonts?

Some Japanese characters display, but it's not the correct characters. For example, I have an MP3 on my card by the Japanese group EXILE. In Japanese, EXILE is エグザイル, but now it shows up like 敦京壇交

or download the jap version of sakura and get the chrglyph.xxx and messages.xxx ..rename them to .000

The file is not corrupted, neither is your cache. That message appears when whoever created the rar file used a... "modified"... version of WinRAR. The file is fine as long as you don't get any other error message tho.

Upd. I've reuploaded the file. The archive is now "sfx", that means, you should rename (simply delete ".rar" in the end) the file to ".exe"

If you mean the authenticity error message, when creating a new rar file make sure you disable the "put authenticity verification" check. Actually, for a small file like that one you should disable all the check marks under the Archiving Options section unless for some reason you specifically need one of them.

Thanks, I thought about it, so I disabled all the "checks" while creating the new archive I uploaded (see my prev. post)
