So I'm ordering all the stuff in order to perform a hardmod on my small n3ds; however I'm having trouble with one key subject. How do you make a perfect hole for the butt connector in the back of the n3ds? I've watched an o3ds turtorial but he just cuts the part of him making the hold, and on the hardmod turtorial it says to melt it with the soldering iron but that sound unsafe and could mess up the back cover. How do I do this?

Yeah that's the turtorial I looked at and also what blade do you use to cut this shit?

i use a small rotary tool to cut holes in plastic, came with many tips to grind precisely. then i sand it down gently after to smooth any rough edges.

Xacto blades should work good for cutting the thinner plastic. Old soldering iron tips or a rotery tool should be used for the thicker plastics.

cut with a lot of care and patience with a sharp blade the right size
No

Use a Dremel

Here's the pro's secret. Get a drill bit that is smaller in diameter than width of the connector. Get some needle files from your local Walmart. Use the drill to create your starter hole. Use the square file to file the hole to shape and size.

Hundshamer's method is the only one listed above that provides the level of control I need to get a perfect result. It's not as fast as other methods, but the results are truly great. I've seen his results in person, and done a few myself using this method with slightly less-perfect results than Hundshamer.

Hundshamer's finishing work is top-notch. I'd listen if he recommends something. :)

USE A NAILFILE, i can't say it enough, Nail Files make a perfect square spot you can adjust the thinkness just by using the top or the lower parts of the file, it makes for clean looking hard mod
