OK, so i just deleted 5 of the themes from my R4DS so i only have twelve on there now. So i turn it on, and press select, It is doing the exact same thing. Its just changing from 1 - 8, not 1 - 12 like it should. Its the custom themes that arent working. HELP!

I suggest doing this: cut your folders that have your custom themes and paste elsewhere, then open the kernel and copy all the 12 theme folders on your card.... after that, you copy each of your custom images to each folder on the card so you overwrite the default ones.

Bit late, seeing as how you fixed it and all, but for future reference, if you have a captial T on the name of the folder (themeXX) then it's not picked up. Was tearing my hair out about that for hours.....

Thanks Faiyez, I did that and it works fine now!

No problem....

Another question:

How do i use the Usrcheat.dat files?

What do you mean, if it's about putting to use a usrcheat file that someone else made and shared, then be sure to rename the thing to USRCHEAT.DAT in caps otherwise the R4 will MOST LIKELY not recognize it... the same goes for usrcheat files that you created yourself. You put the file under the sytem folder where the other cheat database is.

Now when a certain game has cheats from the default database AND the usrcheat database also, then in the R4's browser you will see 2 cheat buttons under that game, where the right button corresponds to the usrcheat database.

I'm currently borrowing an R4 from a friend, but from what I can see, it's never been updated. Is is possible to update a Chinese/Japanese version to English? I've tried to do it numerous times, but every time I try and boot it up, it gives me some error message with a calendar on the top screen.

The R4 is frequently updated but there's not much to update this time. I think the team are working on the Wii connectivity which may take a little more time than usual. The R4 is generally updated in 6 week increments.

No matter what I do, it gives me the same stupid error. Is the R4 he let me borrow just not compatible with English, or what? It was in Chinese/Japanese when I got it from him, but as soon as I tried to update it, nothing has worked.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
