I've been thinking about this for a while, since almost all guides here are against installing CIOScorp just for the sake of running games from the disc channel.
What do you think is the actual best way of running original games (yeah, I still buy those and have many of them from the 'early' days...) on a softmodded wii chip with the usual stuff (HBC, bootmii, etc)?

For example, I tried running a boy and his blob on my old softchip program and it wouldn't run on any IOS.
Neogamma solved the problem but I think that's a bit of a hassle to go through, and I'm a bit worried about my NSMB which is bound to arrive any day now.
Any thoughts?

Thanks!

@ godlike : yeah, that solves it of course, but that's really a bother too.

@ oncle: I'd really like to use the disc channel but a boy and his blob gave a 002 error.

(and so does the Conduit, this of course runs fine in neogamma and other loaders)

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
