Hacking Team Cyclops - Are they gone?

I guess some people cant even give them 3 days let alone 3 weeks.

As I said, it's really easy to prevent, and you're given warnings ahead of time. Somebody could roll out of bed naked, sit at the computer, check their e-mail, find their domain is going to expire in a week, choose to renew it, and crawl back into bed within 15 minutes... avoiding it entirely, naked, in 15 minutes while half-asleep.

If somebody lets their domain expire, there's two possibilities.

1 - They're in financial trouble to the point where they can't even afford the renewal fee on a domain name. If you can't afford $20, you're not going to stay active very long.

2 - They just don't give a fuck. Now, whether it's the cyclo team itself responsible or somebody they hired to maintain the site for them, we'll need to see.

lol or they don't want to continue the hard works because they borrowed to much cash and can't repay their debts.

I'm quite pleased by the fact that Super Scribblenauts works right off the bat. That's a sort of redemption for the fake downtime scare.
Now if only something could be done about that damn Last Window game.

See now that might might be reasonable if it was in fact a domain issue. However, it sounds like it was just problems with their host which could mean any
number of things.

Not much to go off, however had it been the domain expiring, I would have expected (and I think most would agree) that the address probably would have been parked by a 3rd party group that monitors site traffic.

EDIT: I stand corrected. looks like site registration was renewed on Oct 10th and the servers are still in China.

I really hope they don't use that as an excuse to delay an update. I'm hoping for one this week.

I HATE the word "soon", it could mean anything from a minute to a month, or more. I really wish they would have been more specific about WHEN to expect an update other than just saying "soon".

Indeed. I've had my CycloDS for a long time and I've loved it dearly. I wouldn't feel like I had been robbed even if TC had left because I'd gotten my money's worth out of it. It would still be a huge annoyance to me though since the 3DS will be out soon and I would really hate to buy a new flash so close to the 3DS, especially when they're so expensive in Australia. However I don't think I will be going with anything TC does for 3DS if they do, because this has happened before and it is a big price to pay. I may change my mind because TC are generally quite punctual with updates and I've been very grateful before, but I hope I don't.

Good to see they're back, pity their bandwidth is exceeded on the DS subsite, but at least the forums / teamcyclops.com are functional. I was pretty annoyed about the whole thing since they didn't get any word out.

ETA: Ugh, some of their files seem to be missing. Can't download firmware

The new firmware is out? Well if it is then that probably explains the bandwidth limit error.
I don't see it on their forums though...

Man! I really hate to think about getting another flashcart this late in the DS's lifespan. I feel like I'd be wasting money. Though if I did get another one, it would likely be the SCDS2.

Yeah, same... maybe I should have given my little brother the Cyclo instead of the AK2.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, it's this that happens occasionally, which is why the expiry message was so unexpected the first time.

I guess their site was visited after their "relaunch" so many times that the bandwidth get exceeded.

I made the same point somewhere before too. Just like a firmware update, news that they returned after a serious downtime issue was likely to generate a lot of traffic.
