how bizarre, i don't see why it'd only be for some people not others... though it's obviously having problems right now.
If your dns server is slow then that can make it hard to access sites which other people are able to access.

i'd like to point out, like i will on the official forum in a few seconds, that the server has changed. it was in china, now it's in the U.S., i'll have to navigate the forums to find some specifics if possible.

edit: here is the old server address, and here is the new one.

I think the server was still down when you did the search.

This is what i found. The supposed new server is identical to cyclopsds.com. Notice cyclopsds.com's domain has expired.

The forum's server (teamcyclops.com) is identical to CycloWiz's homepage. Notice both cyclowiz and the forum are working.

In another words, the server that is hosting did not change. However, we get the US hoster for cyclopsds.com and forum is most likely due to the fact that these 2 sites were down. If you were to search the forum's address using Geotool right now again, the hoster is China.

i guess we will just have to wait on news from TC on just exactly what happened, i was about to leave and wanted to get that out, i meant to say hoast xD. oh well, it's not that big a deal.

how often does this happen? Reading through this thread, it seems that their website goes down every so often. Is there insane panic every time this happens? I just bought a Cyclo DS a week ago, you guys scared the crap outta me lol

The forums are up. The site main page is up.

Interesting.

No news as of yet. Sad.

Usually it would go down once every couple of months but usually because they exceed their bandwidth. This time was different because the domain actually expired. Even if the site is back up, it's still quite alarming, as there is usually fair warning given before the domain expires. Whether TC is really in some serious trouble (financial or otherwise) or whether it's because they're simply neglecting us, it's a lose lose situation for the consumer. I would say that we're not out of the clear yet. To be quite honest, as a CycloDS owner, I can say that buying a CycloDS at this stage is a waste of money since other flashcarts like the SCDS2 have MANY more features with better support at the moment. Sorry if that lets you down, but that's just what's happening at the moment.

No this was Dealextreme, not RealHotStuff. And Team Cyclops had good reason for doing so because Dealextreme was selling the Cyclo for $20 less than any other site, which would have been bad for TC's business overall.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clear up.

By the way, you just gotta love how a few people on the TC forums are so sure that the cart hasn't been abandoned.

I was actually buying a DS, but some guy was selling one at a good price that was essentially brand new and also came with a brand new Cyclo DS and a new EZ flash as well. As long as it can play the games, I'm good. It woulda just been a bit of a bummer if they ditched just as I got it.

Edit: Is it just me, or is the forum back down again?

Working for me, as well. Hopefully a new beta firmware is released sometime soon to confirm the actual team is still alive and kicking, as well.

That'd be nice.
