So I copied the files from atmosphere 0.9.4 to my sd card, replacing all existing files. Now it boots to sept, then returns to hekate. What am I doing wrong?
I use emummc with firmware 8.1.0 on it.

based on experience, remove all duplicate files and folders that are on your sd card i.e. all folders that have the same names as the NEWEST atmosphere build and then extract fresh or vanilla build of atmosphere to sd card. you could at least try this first. if itr still fails let me know and btw kosmos may be part of the issue as well

Sorry for wasting your time to write an answer. The problem was caused by me not upgrading Hekate.
I posted that here a little while after stating the problem, but I guess I'd better edited the post.
Still, I'm going to keep your answer in my notes, in case there's a problem with the next Atmosphere update.

No.First backup rawnand,boot0,boot1 with hekate. Enable autorcm. Boot Atmosphere .then,You may update to 9.0.That prevents your Switch from burning fuses unless you disable autorcm or boot stock OS.
After that,you may introduce Emunand.

So if i understand correctly it is beter to have a backup of my system ON 8.1 then ON 9.0?? Why is that??

Hi,

I have a switch with 5.1 and reinx 1.1

I would like to update to the latest nintendo firmware and install Kosmos instead of reinx

Is there a guide for this kind of thing?

I am using tegrarcm 2.4 at the moment because when I tried to use 2.6 to go to rcm mode I was getting a purple screen

thank you

Maybe by the end of life of the console if ever. And even if it was released, it would require emuMMC because it would be relegated to a specific firmware version. This is all theoretical however and no one publicly is working on an untetethered coldboot for the Switch. There are other ways of setting up CFW than a dongle. Although technically using a USB cable or trinket to boot CFW are alternatives, they use the same exploit as the dongle. There is another exploit by the name of Deja Vu which allows you to boot CFW via the web browser. However since this requires a network connection, it is still considered tethered but only wirelessly and it currently only supports up to firmware 4.1 with plans to support up to firmware 7.1

Great, thank you!

You can't go from one NAND to another without rebooting, so you still have to reboot into the hekate to boot into stock Sysnand. There is no way to boot directly from Emunand without going through a bootloader.
You're not understanding what I'm asking. If I copy my stock firmware to an emunand partition, can I then boot that OFW (i.e. no CFW) partition. Before you couldn't do it. I am wondering if this has been fixed?

I am trying to follow the guides to do my 9.0 switch.

When using Hekate - all I get is a basic menu which I have to use Volume + and - for - no Gui?

Also I have no option for EmuMMC, I have options for back and restore and that's it. As far as im aware of using all of the latest versions

EDIT: reformatted and re-copied. Resolved.

Hello, just a quick question, how do i update my emunand (it's offline, no internet connection) ? Currently i'm backing up my sysnand freshly updated to 9.0.0 because i saw that Atmosphere now support 9.0.0
There is no reason to update to firmware 9.0 at the moment unless you play online.

Hello, everyone. Noob question here.
I have switch hacked with fuse-glee. Today I did update of Kosmos, and restart console.
New UI of Hekate welcome me, and I have few options to chose when select "Launch".
I read a bit, and it seems, that new way of hacking was introduce with "Emummc" - can anyone point me, what would be the best way to move to new approach?
Should I just create emumcc from current version of CFW on sysnand? Or should I restore nand mmc from backups which I did previously, and then create emummc? Is this neccesery if I doesn't plan go online?
Can someone guide me here? :)
Its better to create an emuMMC partition of your sysMMC with all of its save data intact. Doing it after restoring a clean backup will make an emuMMC without any save data.

If you disable nogc with hekate, do you also need to disable nogc in BCT.ini?
BCT.ini is only used by Fusee not Hekate.

You're not understanding what I'm asking. If I copy my stock firmware to an emunand partition, can I then boot that OFW (i.e. no CFW) partition. Before you couldn't do it. I am wondering if this has been fixed?
Stock emuMMC is still broken as far as I know.

Why not just continue using ReiNX? Also I don't recommend updating to the latest firmware.

Hello everyone!
First post, and complete hacking noob (the only mod ive ever done was a super simple 3ds one, so all of this complicated stuff with the switch is real new to me lol).
I have an unpatched switch that i i foolishly updated to 9.0.0 .
I saw that Atmosphere's been updated as well.
My question is: are the precedures to mod my switch exactly the same, so i can just follow the guides with just the latest releases of hekate, atmosphere, etc. Or is there something different?

Also, i have a 128gb sd card: do both partitions i need on my card need to be Fat or can the bigger one be exFat? Also, do i need to keep the copy of the Sys on the smaller partition for switching to a "legitimate" system?

Thanks, hope what i said made any sense!

Arguably the Switch is easier to hack than the 3DS because all it takes is a paperclip and a USB cable but I digress. Unpatched consoles are referred to as unpatched because their hardware is and will always be vulnerable to the Fusee Gelee exploit so the process will be the same now and in 10 years. One partition can be exFAT although I do not understand your last question.

i disconected the joycons like it said. i skipped the system update portion because i would have had to connect to wifi on the vanilla vers(sysnand?)
it still didnt work.
then i tried to go into maintence mode using both volume buttons and power button. now my switch wont respond at all

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i just wanted to join the legion bros. i dont deserve a bricked switch ):

Thank you for the quick answer!!
Ok let's see if i can explain my poor comprehension on the matter ahahh

The only video tutorial i found in my language had this passage where the guy made two partitions, one of around 29gb (presumably to have the clean sys) and the rest for the emuSys + the games, so that he could switch between the two for when he'd need the clean sys for online gaming. What im asking, i guess, is if this rings any bell and i understood what he did correctly X)
Hekate is for making a backup of the clean sys, right?

It does not respond either on OFW or on Atmosphere?if so,restore rawnand,boot0,boot1.

Restore rawnand,boot0,boot1 or do system update.if you do not want to burn any fuses, after installing autorcm,do system update on the Atmosphere 0.9.4 on sysnand. Do not worry,You will not get banned unless you have installed any nsp to sysnand.

Could anyone help me with this error while attempting to install any NSP file? I'm on 9.0, updated atmosphere and all homebrew. Installed patches and still can't install any NSP.
