already did the PATH stuff automatically from the python installer
Now put the nsp and the python script into the same folder and drag the nsp on the python script.

(for windows, don't know how to do this on other OS):
right click on the folder, properties, advanced, and make a tick on "folder can be archieved" (translation may vary as my Windows is in German)

I rarely ever suggest this but you can try installing Incognito on your Switch to block updates but retain Fake News.

I already told you that factory resets have not been proven to prevent bans yet you insist on doing it so I do not understand why you want to perform one. I also said to setup emuMMC first before restoring your backup otherwise you will lose all save data on sysMMC and emuMMC. For step 5, you did not indicate if you are booting into CFW or OFW/stock which makes a difference as one will burn fuses while the other will not. Lastly, you do not need to make another dump of your NAND after updating your firmware.

You can use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware to 3.0.2 without burning fuses. It accomplishes this by enabling AutoRCM. You can read all about this from this guide.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear and got you frustrated.

I wasn't trying to do a factory reset to prevent ban. I wanted to do a factory reset after restoring the NAND backup to have a clean sysNAND When creating the emuMMC.

Also I have mentioned that I do not need save files from the sysNAND as I already backed up using CheckPoint. I can restore the save files in emuNAND. The idea is to have a fresh install of sysNAND for new games and online play.

For step 5, I mentioned booting into Horizon OS which is OFW and update normally using internet connection while in autoRCM to prevent fuse burn.

For the final point I do not need to make another backup as my fuse count is tied to the current backup. Got it.

Thanks again for your time and support.

i asked in the dedicated thread but didn`t get anything helpful, maybe someone here can, tried to use edizon to see it`s features on a game and this error comes up:
atmosphere cheat module is not running on this system, cheat management and variable freezing is disabled.
i have the newest atmosphere/kosmos, and cfw 8.1.0

Since I wasn't able to uninstall the theme from the switch homebrew menu, because I can't get pass the splash screen, I just moved it out of my SD card. Still got the same error code and everything. When I go into the Hekate 5.0.1's menu, I go to payload and use the fusee-primary from atomsphere 0.9.3.
The title ID referenced in the error code is QLaunch which is modified when using a custom theme. Did you delete that folder from the titles folder?

Does the network install work without glitching?
I have not seen anyone complain about Tinfoil's network install. My own brother used it when it first came out before USB install was a thing.

Is it possible or has anyone tried to update atmosphere with nxmtp? E.g. when a new atmosphere release is out. Does it cause any problems if you override the atmosphere folder while atmosphere is running?
I believe those files are only read at bootup so replacing them live shouldn't cause any issues. Updater applications such as the Kosmos updater perform similar functions.

Formatting didnt help. Console is on 8.1. Cant format through console as it suggest in the link for the reasons mentioned in the original post :(
When it says it requires a software update, you cannot try downloading it?

There is no point in performing a factory reset to make a clean sysMMC if you have a clean NAND backup. Also updating normally in OFW/stock will remove AutoRCM which is why I recommended either performing it in CFW, which will prevent AutoRCM from being removed, or using a jig to manually reboot into RCM (which is risky).

Before I made the NAND backup, i have 4 users setup. I don't want these users anymore and I would like to have a fresh copy of sysNAND. Which is why i would like to do a factory reset. Just like i bought a used switch and I just want to format it to stock and set it up again from beginning. Then only create new users and link to my nintendo account.

After emuNAND is created and autoRCM is enabled in Hekate, you mean if i boot up OFW from Hekate and perform an update it will remove autoRCM? i thought having the autoRCM enabled, i would always boot into RCM mode?

Well if you insist, then you can go ahead with the factory reset.

I also told you that AutoRCM is normally removed during system updates and that modern CFW prevent this but you have to be running CFW to have that protection.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!

@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
