Still got trouble trying to update exfat on 4.1...
I"m trying the choidujour way but i don't know wich files need the homebrew. I have a xci file, i used the script from this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-install-the-exfat-driver-without-updating-2-x.505176/ and i only got bct package1 and package2 (the script ended by . Read somewhere that i have to extract the FS.kip1 from package 2 but how can i do that ?

I know this isn't exactly answering your question, but Draxzelex did say that you can just use ChoiDujourNX and you never said why you wouldn't use it, just that you'd have to reformat your Sd Card to fat32, which at this point, seems ALOT easier to me than keep trying to get CHoiDujour to work. If you insist on doing the update manually, I suggest you try asking here instead: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/ and maybe ask rajkosto directly.

Thx for the answer, i was trying to do it via Choidujour but i didn't know wich files do i need from the xci when i "extract update partition". But now i think i understood that it's all the .nca files that i found when i extract the partition using xci explorer. Thx again for the answer ;)

Oh, right, I get it. I didn't extract the FW from an XCI file myself (just downloaded the FW), but I do believe the .NCA files are what you need. Hope you get it working:)

I have finally hack my switch, thx for all your help.

Quick question thought, is there a way (like a homebrew) to transfer file from my pc to my sdcard while it's in the switch ? Like using a usb cable ? I read somewhere that you can use a ftp connection but it's mean you use internet. Can you block (from your box or your switch) every other connection except the ftp one ?

As far as I know, it actually doesn't, because the exFAT update for the Switch is a standalone update that isn't triggered until you actually put an exfat formatted Card in the Switch. So if you didn't update to FW 5.1.0 using ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX and chose to add the exfat support, your Switch won't support it. Whether it is actually safe to accept the update (in other words, no fuses burnt) since it is a standalone update, I cannot say, so I suggest you just reinstall the 5.1.0 update using ChoiDujourNX and add the exfat support

Thaks for the response! Can i update oficially just for the exfat supporn staying in 5.1? is it any detriment in updating to the latest firmware (6.0)?

If you haven't hacked your Switch yet and don't have a Nand Backup with a lower Firmware you want to downgrade to at some point, there is no harm in just accepting the update. If you have already hacked it, it is much better to just use ChoidujourNX to install the same Firmware Update, but with the added exFAT support.

As a side note, if you haven't hacked it yet, I suggest you create a Nand backup before you do anything hacking related. Don't know how new you are at this, so if something I say doesn't make sense, just ask:P

Thank you so much for your help and predisposition man!! i accepted the update, it wasn´t 6.0 (seems it´s not rolling yet). I had already hacked the switch but it´s my first time loading games. Personally, i´ve no interest in downgrading and if i were flagged for a ban so be it.

You can transfer content in RCM using memloader: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...icrosd-card-as-an-usb-disk-on-your-pc.503701/
For the wireless FTP, you can block Nintendo's URLs via a custom DNS server such as 90DNS.

Ok thx !
Other "funny" question : is the region impacting the language of the game ? Cause i think that my mario tennis is in .... Canadian French ! :D. Is it possible that it's cause of the region choice and what does a region choice change ?

I know this may have been answered before, but is there any case of people being banned by only using Homebrew and emulators without using any kind of game backups? I tried to find this in the mega ban thread but got a little confused

Switch is region free so it probably goes with whatever region the console/account is set in.

Only one person was ever confirmed to have been banned for using homebrew alone (he used a GBA emulator). Granted he also cleared error logs which I'm leaning more towards caused himself to get banned but that's my personal opinion. All other bans have been related to piracy in one way or another.

Hi! I am thinking about buying a switch somewhere in the next few months and use it with a cfw, so that I can try some romhacking. But I'm still a total noob when it comes to Switch scene.

So I was wondering, is there a way to keep ofw stuff separate from cfw, so that I can play officially purchased games, use online features etc, without getting banned, and at the same time, have a cfw for homebrew and offline modded gaming?

If by EmuNAND, that is not out yet nor is there an estimated release window of when we will be getting it. The best way to keep CFW and OFW separated is by making a NAND backup before hacking and restoring that prior to going online to make the console look like it is in OFW. More details can be found here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-banning-hub-warning.508710/

since we'll be unable to unlink out nintendo account soon. Should I risk unlinking mine or should I just leave it as is?
