If you got firmware 20.1.1 installed with Atmosphere 1.9.1, would you be able to run a game whose latest update claims to require firmware 20.3.0? Strictly I'd guess not, but the difference looks small enough to double check.

I think it's very likely that the game will still run on 20.1.1.

OFW could also be updated offline, directly from a game card, IIRC. Like, some games have a minimum FW version requirement and the FW update comes in the same cartridge... right? Never updated that way myself, so I'm not that sure.

That's what I've heard as well but I've never actually confirmed it 100%. Some say that certain carts come with the firmware updates on them, others say otherwise. I would love to hear a final word on that once and for all.

Try installing the update with DBI and see if it'll work. I'm not sure but I think that by default DBI lowers the firmware requirement for most of the games if possible, probably useful for save files or something not having to update the minimum version requirement among other things. Don't quote me on that, though - I just heard something among those lines, that's all.

I believe 20.0.0 had the new master key, that why lockpick RCM was updated.

I've decided to never connect my original Nintendo Switch to the internet or update it—it's now my dedicated Sega Saturn console. I use my Switch 2 for all other Nintendo Switch gaming.

To keep using it this way, I currently inject the payload using my PC with "TegraRcmGUI.exe", pointing to: ...\TegraRcmGUI_v2.6_portable\hekate_ctcaer_6.2.2.bin

I know some might suggest just using rest mode, but in case the console powers off completely, I need a way to re-inject the payload. I’d prefer to do this from my phone. I installed Rekado and followed the setup steps, but it doesn’t seem to work. Could it be that hekate_ctcaer_6.2.2.bin isn’t supported?

Any advice on mobile payload injection would be greatly appreciated! *EDIT* I'm using a DATA USB cable also.

You have few options in term of payload injections, Rekado, RCM Loader, Computer. In addititon you could install a Trinket M0 in your switch so you don't need to tether to another device.

You can get RCM Loader off ebay, as for Trinket M0 you can't get that off ebay or Amazon.

Im not 100% sure as I don't have a RCM loader, if you can inject the latest version of hekate directly but worse case you can use an older hekate to chainload into newer version, the one on sale isn't the original version out there, the one available now is clone of the original.

Then again, they could probably tell whether an update was installed that way that or not, as well.

oh yeah true, I would hope that daybreak could just emulate that so that it just looks like a gamecard update. as far as I know it uses all the built-in methods in the OS for installing updates so it might be doing that

it's all offline regardless and doesnt need validation from the servers, so cfw could probably just spoof it so the update looks like it came from a game card and nintendo cant really tell otherwise. unless game card updates need to be validated and done by gamecard firmware which we dont really control with cfw

although they could see that no game card was inserted that contains that firmware update version so that could be a way to detect it even if it could be possible to spoof it. and if you have a game card that has that update version just to make it appear legit then you might as well just do the update through the game card instead of using daybreak anyway

Bought an OLED Switch with the Magic Modchip. It has 1 legit game on the OFW and a bunch on the emunand/emummc in Atmosphere installed to the SD CARD.

Now I don't know if this console is already flagged for ban or banned, I have yet to connect it to wifi. The guy that sold it to me told me his intention was to only use it only with CFW and offline.

Is there a way to check if it's banned already before connecting to the internet and Nintendo servers?

I do understand that if it's not banned, it should not get banned if using official purchased games or free games like Fortnite if using the OFW for that and if I never connect it to the internet while using CFW?

Also is there an issue if there are emulators and other games on the SD card installed on the CFW on the SD Card? Will those be seen and reported to Nintendo when using the OFW?

I’m reposting this from another thread:

I updated a few days ango to the latest firmware and I noticed the battery draining on sleep issue.
My set up is as follows:
Sysnand (online connected, nothing non legit installed. But I use jksv to restore and backup saves)
Emunand (offline, for all other stuff)

From what I understand there is a solution, changing the system_settings.ini config, which will disable the persistent calls to Nintendo servers when offline, causing the switch to not go to sleep.

I believe that it will affect sysNAND CFW, but sadly I'm not sure how to set it up only to affect emuNAND. Someone else might be able to help you out. Thanks for the info, though, I wasn't aware that someone found this workaround.

Happy to help for once. Please tag me if you stumble across something. I guess I’ll have to keep my switch on airplane mode until an actual fix is implemented (I heard that’s a workaround)

i'm thinking about getting an oled switch, but all the ones i've found are on 20.x firmware. since the switch will have a picofly, can i boot an emunand that i created on a different system/model (ex: a tegra x1 og switch). if not, is there any way to get 18.1.0 to work?
