I've noticed that more and more people are using Magisk instead of SuperSU, so I thought I'd make a poll to assure that.
I'm using Magisk - hbu?

Does that prevent Nintendo games from detecting root?Magisk, due to the SafetyNet bypass.
Out of the box it only works with things that use SafetyNet, I don't know if the Nintendo apps do, but it has a blacklist you can add other apps to in order to hide root from apps that use other methods.Does that prevent Nintendo games from detecting root?

Oh fancy
I might give that a go, then. I guess it wouldn't be a HUGE loss if I couldn't play Super Mario Run anymore
It worked, though?I installed Magisk on my phone to play Pokemon Go but then I found myself barely playing it
Yup, worked like a charm. It worked, though?
Yup, worked like a charm.
Well guess who's gonna root his Galaxy S7 now
Yeah, I've done this before with my S4 mini, it's just been a little while and I wanted to wait until the S7 stopped getting updatesHave fun lol, just don't forget to make a Nandroid backup beforehand. You might not need it, but better safe than sorry right?
With Magisk, OTA updates usually still work.Yeah, I've done this before with my S4 mini, it's just been a little while and I wanted to wait until the S7 stopped getting updates
Oh, cool! Will def keep that in mind for my next phone as wellWith Magisk, OTA updates usually still work.
I used to find myself having to update my root method every time I wanted to play Pokemon Go (which isn't very often) due to Google changing things in SafetyNet all the time breaking the old methods, but nowadays with Magisk they have almost given up on trying to detect root so it rarely needs updating. There was one time last summer or autumn where they started detecting some parameters set by Magisk, but that was quickly sorted out in an update. Non-SafetyNet root detection is far less sophisticated, for that you don't even really need Magisk but it's probably the easiest way these days.It worked, though?
